I used to have a fx5500 it was absolutly fine for most older games, The Sims 2 ,Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 and so on.. You have to remember that TigerDirect are a company and this is more a promo video for selling stuff than an actual review for the card, so even if its old, they still have to clear stock out thier warehouse probably.

Yes my Sister got a new PC. nice one 775 socket Intel Core2Duo E8500 6GB RAM

but no GPU. It hat some lame Intel HD graphics. But it didn't support Aero on vista and 7 !!!! So I found this card in my computer parts box. I have the Game edition so like an OC one. Putted it in the Windows 7 Ultimate PC and installed Vista drivers from 2006 (last ones made) And now Very nice Aero and very fast for normal use. Just perfect if you don't need more than a youtube pc and Office and some games. ;)

@BlueIsa7 From what I read most 6200's run on a 64-bit bus, thus the lack of speed when Anti-aliasing and doing Anisotropic filtering, however things like 2x should work, 2x anti-aliasing is the least heavy of all anti-aliasing techniques because it is the weakest, if a card cannot do that then it there is a major problem plus not being able to do 4x Anisotropy an a NV card (Even low end) is sort of unheard of, even my bro's old 5200 could do 4x AS and still play well........=/

@jdcrispe95 Actually ironically it can, it just can't run super high end games, or games at extremely maxed out settings, it could run Half-Life 2 on low or medium, at 40FPS or so, though AA on Geforce FX is kinda of balls.......seriously it doesn't work entirely properly some edges are clean (Which is a good reason to turn it on anyway) some are not (Draws you away from using it).

@GenuineMW2 Actually, I've tried it and the 5200 isn't all bad at all, it's just not for the HARDCORE gamer, if you want to do some gaming with shit like Half-life 2, and all that but not have a behemoth rig, then the 5200 is pretty decent, just go to remember DX 8.0 and low or medium settings.......ROFL, though 8.0/8.1 are barely discernible from 9.0 until you get to the lazily developed water and sunlight for 8.0.

@GenuineMW2 Damn indeed, It lacks support for specifc things (Which can sometimes be noticable mainly it's lack of support for anything pertaining to or mimicing particles I.E. dust/sand) and of course I can't play Half-life 2 or anything like that on it, however hardware intensive emulators (Such as Project 64) along with Games that usually bog systems down that aren't up to speed, run perfectly fine on it, Ocarina of time, etc, run with no problems, sometimes with Anistropy on!

Wow, I best most of you haven't seen a ISA or a VLB graphics card let alone the propitiatory designs.

This card is ok for the basics like spread sheets and old games but don't expect much. I wouldn't be surprised if a Geforce3 TI 300 would beat this card lol or a old V5 4500 in openGL.

@masticina even the old geforce ti series is faster then the stinkin 5200. 5950 wasnt a bad card, it had 4X2 pixel pipeline, wasnt a true 8 pixels per clock peak pipeline unlike the radeon 9800xt which it did.

9800xt was a better peforming directx card, owned both cards in the past.

Well as I said there is media offloading. In that time not a bad option. But the limited design of the FX series [One set of shaders for Dx7, Another set for Dx8 and oh yes in what space is left for Dx9] even the top models we're limited in performance. As I notice right there it has to do with a faulty hardware design.

The Ati cards simply did Dx7/8/9 with the same pixel pipelines. The Fx Series though it was better to give each their own special ones.

Directx performance on the FX series was gimped but on both later and earlier series was quite good.

Seeing how Pac-Man is a newer game and can be a little taxing on your State-of -the-Art PC, I would recommend that you disable the sound, end all processes on your PC, and put all settings on very low. With the FX 5200 and those settings, I can safely say that you can get a hefty 7 to 9.5 FPS out of pac-man. No Joke! Totally worth the 150$, even used.

Though it supported DirectX 9, it has way lower performance than cards like the GeForce Ti4200. Ok if you're were on an extreme budget, but the FX5600 was somewhat better. But the whole GeForceFX series wasn't that good all together.

I had this card From a AGP slot Motherboard from my 1st computer in year 2003.

It did the job well then, I've played games like Warcraft3 and Counter strike it went very well. But for games like Halflife 2 Year 2004+ game, It freezes and my computer locks up. this card was then useless right there... not sure about PCI though..Also why is this card being advertised in a released 2007 video? It's like advertising the old Sidekick 2 now. Lol

The speed of ddr on a graphics card has nothing to do with compatibility. If the slot on the bottom of the card fits your motherboard it will work.
