  • hehe... yeah, I love that he reuses the themes.Yay Handel. The "Quel fior che all' alba ride" is also the tune of "His Yoke is Easy" -- another beautiful duet that these two sing to perfection.

  • I didn't know there existed a profane version of the famous "Unto us a child is borne" from Messiah

  • @pieemme Indeed, Handel composed No, di voi non vo' fidarmi in July of 1741 and his Messiah premiered in London on April 13, 1742. He also resued a theme form "So per prova" as "All we like sheep" in his Messiah.

  • @pieemme It is also common for baroque composers to reuse melodies. They composed for a living, writing sometimes a new piece everyday. So, they took the easy way out sometimes hehe.
