@pieemme Indeed, Handel composed No, di voi non vo' fidarmi in July of 1741 and his Messiah premiered in London on April 13, 1742. He also resued a theme form "So per prova" as "All we like sheep" in his Messiah.

@pieemme It is also common for baroque composers to reuse melodies. They composed for a living, writing sometimes a new piece everyday. So, they took the easy way out sometimes hehe.
