I am in Love with this bike, though I have only been able to sit on one, as there are so few in Canada (didn't make it here until this year!) I also sold my '72 CB 350 this summer due to the headache of mechanicals, the weight and the unpredictable performance of it. I can not wait to get my hands on a 2009 or 2011 TU250, but will likely have to go South of the border to get one! Thanks for the video. I am so stoked. :))
@20LookInside12 Yeah even though I live in Florida, I still had to drive about 2.5 hours to find one. That is so funny you had the CB350 as well. I wonder how common this is. Yeah and I don't really know the difference between the 2011 and the 2009, besides the color.
@JasonBoone There's quite a hipster Cafe Racer "scene" here in Toronto. People getting on the classics and riding to events. Quite fun, as I've always I wanted a classic bike, but one I could depend on, hit some dirt roads, commute in the city, travel coast to coast (on secondary roads: slower, but more scenic and safe) and not have the headache (literally) of not knowing when my CB would stall, over-rev, lock her rear brake or lose a headlight/turn signal etc...The TU is just perfect. :)
awesome vid and bike! im 5'8 so its good to hear it fits you. i just passed my driving course a week ago and was looking at 70's honda cb350s for my first bike...not anymore. finding out this bike exists is a dream come true. funny how i discovered this bike, i visited a bike shop and they had this taiwan bike called 'Sym Classic Wolf' looks nice, just like the tu250. 2011 model..except they only come with a 150cc engine. so got home and googled 'new retro looking motorcycles'..voila! excited!
@josetheknife Funny you should mention the CB350. That was actually the first bike I bought two years ago, but it was just too much of a pain for me to fix. I ended up finding this bike, so I quickly sold the CB350 and bought this, and I have been happy ever since. The fuel injection is so great!
I will have to look up that Sym Classic Wolf. Well have fun with the Suzuki when you get it!
@JasonBoone ....guess what, they dont sell the TU250 in California due to emmision laws! damn!....back to square 1..based on forums and here say, repairs is the only thing that stopping me from getting a vintage CB, and your just more confirmation. so it was that bad huh? those Syms look nice but a 150cc... i might just hold off build up the cash to throw down for a GB500, but would have like getting one of those Suzukis brand new....oh well. Enjoy that thing for me! hahah
@donieodulio Yeah they don't sell them in Cali. Sucks! And yeah the CB was a huge headache. Keep in mind I have no mechanical experience, but every mechanic or person I took it to wouldn't touch it. Fucking pain. I know it is a different style bike, but what about a Honda Rebel? That is what I was originally dead set on getting, before the Suzuki TU250x crossed my path and seduced me like Angelina Jolie.
I'm SO excited about finding out about this bike! I want to buy my first bike, and I love the classic 70's style. Was feeling like if I wanted a new bike, good for beginners, I'd have to have one that didn't look like I think a motorcycle looks best. THIS is it! Love your video.
I wanted to get one of these bikes. Great classic styling, affordable. Ah the list goes on. But I live in California and it's not CARB legal. Strict filthy animals.
Love the Tu250. Saving to get one right now, I am 5'9 1/2 and felt like that bike was a perfect fit. Also has enough seat room to get a pretty girl on the back w/o a problem.
250cc is fine. Just install a 16 tooth sprocket in the front and a 41 tooth sprocket in the rear (cheap fixes), and you'll be able to cruise all day on the highway.
@BigRedGuitar , it is a cool little bike, I love mine, but a little more speed would be nice at times. Where did you find the 16 and 41 tooth sprockets to fit? Every place I have looked don't carry anything for the tu250. I assume ones made for other bikes will fit, but I don't have a clue as to which ones will fit. If you could help me out it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I still have to take a beginning rider course, pass the tests, and get license first,...and the money to buy the bike,of course,...but little do you know that you have helped me decide on my first bike,...the TU250X will be that bike! How easy are these things to shift? I'm not used to manual shift and it will take me some time to learn!
@KC9SYJ It took me no time to learn how to drive a standard-shift bike, but I was used to driving manuals. If you have a good instructor, s/he should be able to show you how to do this.
does this bike have any REAL drawbacks? it's relatively cheap, looks sexy, and is low maintenance some people say 250cc isn't enough, but if it can get you up to 60 mph for freeway use, what's so bad about that?
My average top speed on this bike is about 75mph. That is wide open on the interstate. And I drive to work 4 days a week about 10 miles on the interstate. Always wide open. Since I am new to motorcycles, I don't really know if this is bad for the bike. Anyone want to weigh in on this?
I love the fact that it has fuel injection. That is a real step up above other competitors in this class. Also the throwback look is just lovely.
@JasonBoone Riding wide open is terrible for the bike! You should avoid it whenever possible! 10 miles going full throttle a day is going to kill your engine! Back off down to at least 60. Maybe less even.
@alexsuchapimp Yeah I have decided to take a different route; non-interstate! Thanks for the input. It is hard to tell how hard it is on the bike since there is no tachometer, and it doesn't sound like the bike is struggling.
@cdigman Florida indeed. In fact, in one of the shots of me on the bike you can see the VAB in the background across the river. The VAB (Vehicle Assembly Building) is where they attach the external fuel tank and rocket boosters to the Space Shuttle!!!
Well edited, not too long, and a bit of a change up from the boring single camera extended cuts of just traffic driving and wind noise. Very well done! And... pretty sweet little machine. I'm looking at getting one myself in the Fall if there are any to be had after the summer since a new Triumph is too damned expensive right now, and this is the next best thing :P
@LostHemingway Don't know where you can get a used one in Taiwan. Sorry! And yes you can fit a person comfortably on the back, as long as you both are of a reasonable weight. But I weigh 165lbs and the bike maxs out around 75mph with me on it by myself. If I am drafting someone or the wind is with me, I can get it to 85mph, almost 90mph.
@FLNCM Yeah I had to travel a good two hours to grab this one.

I'm sure you can buy them from other places including Suzuki, but I got mine at:
cheapcycleparts(dot) com -
Suzuki SPROCKET, REAR (NT:41) = part# 64511-13FA0
(The site says the part is on back order, but give 'em a call. I just received mine from them. I hope to install it within the next few days.)
