@LTDViperDeli well that's one very pessimistic way of looking at it, or you can actually listen to what she has said numerous times in various interviews. She came out to be true to herself...she also, being a public figure wanted to inspire others. Is that so bad? I find her to be an inspiration to anyone struggling with similar problems like she has had.

@cainy848 Or you can see the reality of what it all is and that is it was a failed publicity blitz by having an album, book, documentary and talk show tour that all coincided with her "coming out" announcement, plotted out by Howard Bragman, no less. And now that she's supposedly getting "death threats" and her career is more in the toilet then it was before, she's now blaming it all on people not giving her a chance simply because she's a lesbo now. This whole thing reeks of total bullshit.

To make them see that they aren't the only one who feels the way they do. She helped me come out and I'm very thankful for that. I don't know why YOU feel the need to tell everyone what you think assuming that everyone cares. Now you can go saying I do the same but I think there are people who care about what I have to say.

@IsCoolSilke Whatever. I speak my mind, whether anyone's offended or not. I'm not PC and I don't give a flying shit who agrees with me or not. For the record, I don't hate gays or lesbos but I strongly dislike those who use their sexuality for sensationalism especially from some person whose career was over 12 years ago. Michael Buckley (who is extremely gay) even said "sexuality is NOT a People Magazine cover".

@IsCoolSilke This goes with what I've been ranting about all along. It wasn't HER decision to make a media blitz about coming out. It was her publicist Howard Bragman who is infamous for trying to turn coming out into media sensationalism which is getting old. If it helps young people come out, that's fine. But when it turns into playing "the victim" all the time in every speech she makes, it's clearly scripted and not very sincere.

@IsCoolSilke In a statement released Jan. 11, she claims to have been getting "death threats" for coming out & saying that her sales were "cut in half". Bollocks. Her career's been in the toilet ever since the early 2000s and after the whole "Bumper of My SUV" debacle, her credibility has been torpedoed. Now she's blaming all her bad fortune on her "coming out". That is purely playing the "victim card" and just another way to keep her face in the press. Sorry, but I don't buy it.
