Great song by a group that didn't get enough credit. Talked to Charles Evans 2 weeks ago at The Ultimate Doo-Wop Show @ The Fox Theatre Detroit. He came to see our group,Deke and The Blazers,and some of the other groups on the bill that he knew. (ex. The Spaniels).
That was part of the era for that record company(Fortune Records, the famous blue label with silver lettering, on both 45 and 78 RPM records) which was between 1953-1960, the golden era of 50's doo wop and R&B music. That record company had pretty much went on the wayside in 1961, about the time when music had begun to change(to soul music and 60's doo wop revival) and also 78 RPM records had been discontinued here in the USA by then.
I had 2 Fortune records and I remember all the tunes were good,,ranging from a variety of doowop sounds and styles,What Devora Brown did with a rag tag studio was impressive,DZ from the Bean
