  • I would buy this so fast it would be flipping itself. It is such a great design, and i think it would be very ergenomical (parden 10th grade vermont spelling) in terms of flipping

  • anyone else just find it comforting to listen to the sound of the butterfly knife being flipped?

  • @CalviNNation willing to sell ur 42', 450$?

  • i would buy this if benchmade made it for sure. it looks awesome and like it'd be a good flipper.

  • That is a great idea. :) And it would be awesome if you got this into production!

  • idea! that big oval maybe you could make it an option to have your name or initials engraved into the g10 with the color of your choice like you said... personally i like the fully milled idea...

  • cool idea. I think it would work out better with stainless steel overlays and annodized titanium underlays, just for the added weight. I like the idea of using multiple materials to make a better balanced handle.

  • Definitely an interesting idea, i agree with machining being very hard, i have a feeling it would probably be really expensive to make because of the difficulty too, but overall its interesting. I was hoping u might of come up with a handle drilled out hole pattern that was not so similar to the bm4x but obviously those are your fav so thats what u are going to draw sorta

  • Gimme that knife!!!!

  • @CalviNNation, ok thanks for the info, I take it you were driving since you brought them back in your pocket?

  • All the Milling that would require would make that design so expensive...

  • if i was operating a mill, i would definetly try to make them, though i work on a lathe so maybe in some years.... looks really good mate

  • I don't understand the reason for the G10 underneath. It seems like it would just thin out the metal, making it more flexible or breakable. Another problem would be that if the handle play becomes too much or the screws become too loose, the blade might hit the G10, causing damage it to chip or break

  • @Bladejunkie92 well really its the same as having the TI underneath, It just gives an all metal look to it, it would be strong enough for sure. As far as handle play, g10 is pretty tough, but its going to be up to the user to make sure it doesnt get too loose.

  • dude that will be so awsome if that came out realy :o

  • Nice Idea. I am probably going to get back into flipping constantly when I can get a hold of one of these new Bm 62's.

  • @KnotsNBalis Go to school kiddo.

  • @nudenebula Give a hoot, don't pollute you druggie. xD

  • @KnotsNBalis Yeah man!

  • ok but were is the tang going to land because g-10 although it is very strong it will not support it up to the abuse flipping it will cause

  • @EDCblade I was thinking Zen pins that go through both the TI and the G10

  • @CalviNNation I was hoping for zen pins. fits with the "reverse morpho" theme.

  • @CalviNNation cool sounds both functional and beautiful

  • I think you should these this not just design them

  • G10 liners and titanium scales? I can see it. a reverse of the Morpho!

  • @DoktorHolocaust Yeah man! The Reverse Morpho!

  • sick

  • That's awesome!!!!

  • I think it would look really cool if you mill through the Ti but not through the G10 so you can see the G10 through the Ti.

  • @Ch40sPh4nt0m I was thinking about that as well! I think Blue g10 and satin TI would look sick!

  • GENIUS!

  • THAT IS SICK ! I'd buy one if you made them !

  • @josetheassassin Awesome! Thanks for the comment!

  • Since we are talking about it... I think the old 42 spring, that works in both directions and always holds the latch out straight, is better than the leaf spring for flipping. It also causes the handles to be longer than the blade by a greater amount than other latch systems. Which I think is more flippy also... i want long handles for scissoring and certain stuff especially... and that bali, CN, the deisgn, is straight tits bruh... hope you make some knives dude, id get one...

  • @sirhorsechoker Thanks for the comment man! if I were to have a spring latch, thats how I would like to design it too! It just is so nice for flipping cause its NEVER in your way which is soo nice. After it gets a little older it tends to stop working as well but still my fav design!

  • I'd buy it

  • Would you have a spring latch and how would you design it? I think the BM42 type is the coolest for function but there might be a more elegant way to achieve that without the need for a coil spring - something like the 51.

  • @deceptivepanther With this design there is a possibility for a spring latch but thats the last thing I think I would design since its not super priority.

  • Send those designs to benchmade or someone cause I'd buy one

  • @AssembledTube Ill try to take it somewhere! Maybe I will send it to BM

  • @CalviNNation ill be buying if they make

  • The machining would require witchcraft

  • @SanguineProphecy hehehe, it would be a tough job.

  • The G10 would reduce the weight a lot. Seeing a good portion of the titanium its carved out.

  • Another great design. Very innovative. I would buy it!

  • Cool

  • Yeah I think I'll share my design with you all soon, haha... now where's my graph paper?! LOL.

Thank you for sharing brother, I hope you can definitely get one into production somehow... like I said, I'll buy one because our views on balis tend to coincide more than not so I know I would like it quite a bit. I'd love to have one with "X4CTO" on the custom G10 inlay area you were mentioning too, I think that would be kickass!

  • @X4CTO Dude that would be sweet to have your Name in there! I definitely think that if I cant get this made myself then I will have to work on it with a friend! Again man, I appreciate your thoughts and support!

  • @CalviNNation

Well I hope so because I would love to see this one come to life... for you and me, haha!

We need more quality balisongs on the market now.

You're very welcome brother... glad to support a friend.

  • Nice video....hope you get this made.

  • @jmmurdy Hope so too!

  • Now you have me wanting to draw up the balisong design that's been in my head for quite a bit... I might have to do that bro.

I love the design you have going here indeed... I'd buy one. I do like metal balis as far as looks, but then again I have an attraction to synthetic handles as well... like my 51's and 32... love those to death! =)

It's all about balance, weight and style my man! HAHA!

  • @X4CTO Thanks for the comment man! Metal balis are sweet but yeah I do love the synthetic ones too! 32 and 51 rock. Dont forget the smallfly too! I think this bali has alot of potential and would be an interesting experiment none the less. Thanks for stopping by man, ohh and I would love to see a design of yours too!

  • @CalviNNation

    You're welcome brother.

Yep... I forgot all about the Smallfly... now I feel bad... going to have to go play with her now! ♥

My design is on paper now, it's one of three I have in my head... but it's the one I think I would like most of the three. It's not too crazy, but I like simplicity in a balisong. It has some high end and lower end, more affordable options... I'll post it ASAP.

  • Definitely a cool design, if it could be made. Almost seems like just sandwich Ti would be less expensive because it would be less machining intensive.

  • Looks like it sucks...

Haha nah, looks cool, but seems like it could be a pain in the ass to manufacture with that ti curving around the G10. However, the G10 could definitely lighten things up the way we like it and that wait could be reallocated to the ends with the SS spacer. So I basically wrote this up when I started the video and now you are going over all of these things haha.

  • @BalisongAddict haha thanks man!

Well, hopefully the TI would be a 90 degree angle so everything would work better and the g10 would fit nicely. I agree with the rest of what you say! Which oddly is you agreeing with what I say ahaha thanks for the comment!

  • Where do u get your knives? Websites?

  • @9025skyman Yupp, for the most part. Check out BladeHQ, Cutleryshoppe, and gpknives.

  • holy poop that's a cool design. for mine, carbon fiber would look cool in that big middle hole so i'd want a totally custom underlay. it'd definitely take some machining witchcraft and planets aligning but that would make it all the more sweeter to own. depending on blade steel and overall price that could end up being a grail knife to a lot of flippers.

  • @FatGuyWithAKatana Thanks for the comment man! CF would be sick! Ill put you on the list hehe

  • sweet!

  • Good*

  • @calviNNation hey I'm going to the states and want to pick up another balisong! I'm curious how you get them back to Canada, I know you have mentioned something about a ski trip you go on but do you bring them back taken apart or what? Thanks for your time and if you don't want to reply on this vid just shoot me a PM, have a food day!

  • @Honda1794 A food day eh? hehehe, well I literally just brought them back in my pocket. Its the safest place for them. You can fully tighten the pivots though, or even take it apart. That would be safer.

  • let me know if you ever decide to put these into production :D ive been thinking about getting into knife making too, mainly balisongs for a while now but im way too busy with school

  • @LegitRouge Yeah man, it sucks how expensive it is. Someday though, someday!

  • Three days ago I was Thinking of a desighn for a Bali and this was exactly what I was thinking of

  • @soundpromaster Hehehe I knew it!

  • Cool design man!
