ute lemper did a nice job here. VERY hard show to do with all different people. Some did great (Sinead O'conner, Ute, Bryan Adams) and some sucked (Joni Mitchell, Van Morrison) but Roger is a genious doing this at the Berlin Wall at the height of the communism fall.

I remember when this was going on and for u guys was talking about syd barret turning over his grave for ur info syd didnt dye until years after this concert and syd left long before the wall came out the wall was for syd anyway by roger waters u guys all got it wroung i love this concert ill see this time after time

Indeed. Syd Barret echoes throughout late 70's Pink Floyd and The Wall was infact inspired by Syd. The character of Pink was fleshed out by Roger's past and what had become of Syd.

in advance and over 50 countries had signed on to broadcast the

concert live. For fear of riots and injury, the concert gates

eventually had to be taken down letting in an extra 100,000

people for free.

This was a Mega-Event celebrating the fall of the Berlin Wall. Roger Waters invited a number of different musicians. It was like a musical of 'the Wall' with German Rockers 'Scorpions' opening the show and some actors playing parts

Yeah Skinhead O'connor was there but some great musicians were there too Paul Carrack, 'The Band, Van Morrison, Cindy Lauper, Bryan Adams. I saw it Live but not in Berlin unfortunately!. During the Concert they build a Wall and symbolically blow it up at the end!

My only complaint about this show is that Roger Waters hired other people to play more in this one. (The Scorpions for "In The Flesh", Sinead O'Connor for "Mother" ? for "The Thin Ice" Cyndi Lauper for "Another Brick In The Wall (pt. 2)" and all of those other people for "The Trial"). Other than that, a good performance of The Wall.

I was 'glued' to my TV in Oslo watching this megagig - just wishing I could've been at Potsdam Platz., but I had tickets to Berlin for some days connected to the Reunion, 2. - 3. October 1990, THAT was something too! and on Sun Sep 30th I broke The Wall by running Berlin Marathon through Brandenburger Tor into East Berlin - what a feeling!! what a gig! AND last week, the 16th June, I got my THE WALL in Berlin, in O2 stadium! Great GIG!
