This video is not really "restored" it's a different video recording. The official recording starts off with a feed from Goldstone which was too dark because of a problem with the scan converter there. This is a different recording which was made in Sidney and shows the Honeysuckle Creek video feed. It's actually a second generation copy on VHS - they lost the original Ampex some time in the 1980's

There was a third astronaut and he was in the service module orbiting above the moon while Armstrong and the second astrounaut were on the moon. There may be some footage from that spacecraft as well.

First, the camera was fixed to the side of the lander. Perhaps if NASA bothered to put a camera on the lander they would have placed it in the perfect spot to document man's first steps on the moon. They're NASA for crying out loud, I'm sure they can figure that out. And if it was a conspiracy, how has this "hoax" been kept quiet after nearly 400,000 people worked on it? Hmmmmm?
