This was under our Xmas tree along with our commodore 64 (lol) in 1984 or therabouts

I still own it, it's immaculate works like a charm and FYI .... In those days it was well over 3 grand!!!!

How come it stumbles/pauses in the autocomp every fourth? A tiny shuffle that messes it all up..

@PazuzuStalker The rhythm stops when I take my fingers off the keys in the left part. You can do fancy rhythm fills in this mode where the chord memory is turned off, but there again, any timing errors on the key change show up badly!

Iv just adopted one of these from my recently deceased step dad who was a singer for over 30 years, he never used it and left it to me. unfortunately there is some cosmetic damage to the case on one side, its a little heat damage thats distorted the case like it was too close to something hot but other than that it plays fine and still looks new. i love that 80's almost commodore 64 sound of it =]

Well, I have one of these just now (it was a gift from a friend... kind of beyond the grave..), and it is kind a cool. But it's really bad that it doesn't have MIDI. And beside that, this mine has a problem with chinch contacts...

@antics2009a Yeah mine had problems with the keyboard contacts, you can fix them by unscrewing some of the circuit boards to get at the rubber contacts under the keyboard. Then remove the contact boards and press down on the rubber dome contacts with a pen and shift them from side to side to sweep away any debris. This is the only way of doing it because the contacts are sealed inside the rubber domes.

i actually had one when i was like 8 and my mom bought me a crappy casio keyboard as a replacement thinking that it was better...

But no casio in the world could generate this quality sound!

@daveparry well i think most casio's are too clean which is a good thing if you want to learn how to play keyboard but as a musician its wordless

@FullFledged, your right, The new ones are really good, the trick with the old ones is finding the right context.

I used to loathe them but Ive really warmed to them of late.

You would be amazed at what some sweet fx can do for a $5 casio.
