Does a dunk REALLY take much skill? or does it just take the ability to jump high enough? Being able to jump high enough is cool so porps on jumping high should really be the compliment.

A lot of it is probably natural, but I'm sure they do some exercises (jump soles) to help with their vertical. But if you don't have the correct body type, muscle fibers, etc., odds are you will never be able to jump like this. These guys are truly amazing.

Why are you guys giving this guy thumbs downs? VC is still widely considered the best dunker of all time because he did ridiculous stuff on the highest level of basketball in the NBA. Not only that, but he dunked ON the best and biggest players in the world. In addition to these things, he also was a great scorer at a certain point, as well as dunking. These guys may be better dunkers as in a dunk contest, but saying that he destroyed VC's dunk is a disgrace to the GOAT dunker.

Dunking can be put into 3 category's. 1-In game dunking, 2-Dunk contest dunking and 3-Freestyle dunking.
Now I don't think any of them are even better than VC at FREESTYLE dunking, and in game dunking it's an insult to even mention them among VC. And dunk contest dunking, VC kills them too. Why? They MISS their BEST dunks, and have no showmanship like VC.

A lot of it is probably natural, but I'm sure they do some exercises (jump soles) to help with their vertical. But if you don't have the correct body type, muscle fibers, etc., odds are you will never be able to jump like this. These guys are truly amazing.

If I remember correctly, The elbow dunk was inspired by Jameel Pugh...I think Vince even credits him for it.

You remembered incorrectly, as it was the 2 footed between the legs dunk that was inspired by Pugh. Vince added something to it that was more difficult and nice.
As I made a point about VC inventing many dunks, he did not invent either the honey dip or 2 footed rider. He DID make them famous though and everybody was doing them after him.

he is very sick, but this is not the best i've seen. this is real good for an alley oop though. i saw a vid on youtube of a guy who put his arm up to his shoulder in the rim. i've seen it before, but they always lift themselves up afterward to get their arm deeper, but this guy just did it so effortless

He was a pioneer, I wouldn't say he has done it the best. There are alot of dunkers who can do both dunks with more hangtime and make it look alot better with more spin. Vince definately is not the best at those two dunks.

NBA players can be among the best in the world, I never said they couldn't. Although alot of people can do better on different dunks that he pioneered. Like the 360 mill reverse alot of dunkers can do better as vince didn't get alot of rotation. Then for the honey dip alot of dunkers can do better variations and add stuff to it. Like 360, windmill, through the legs....

Yeah it does depend on that but you can't fall back on that when it's way too obvious. I couldn't tell you it's my opinion that Josh Smiths 360 windmill was better than VC's, because it just isn't.
Honey Dip, he made the ordinary Honey Dip look great. How many people can do that? If you see a random honey dip you won't be impressed.
And while VC did have enough spin on it imo, the beauty of the dunk lied in the full extension of the windmill while spinning, and the perfect balance/finish.

Right now well...I don't have a clear real favorite. There are alot of amazing dunkers out there. Right now...AUT, Wayne Clark, Golden Child, Tony D. Actually you got to give Troy credit though. He is one of those inventive dunkers, bringing new dunks to the table. Not alot of dunkers do that anymore.
