legal issues between their parents and their producers. their producers ENCOURAGED them to quit school and the boys (except jesse because he's two years younger than the rest of the guys) were thinking about it and as a result jesse quit and the parents learned that one of the producers was involved with teen porn. so they boys wanted to quit (which they legally could do) but also wanted to perform as dreamstreet and have right to the songs which wasn't legal.

the parents (except chris') sued the producers for making them to porn and having sex with girls. as a result the band is never to perform together again under dreamstreet and chris has the rights to the songs for staying with the producers. if you think about it they could get back together and be called something else other than dreamstreet and since chris has the rights to the songs they could still perform their old songs
