spoiler: Mags has always lost vs doom in the comics. Doom is immune to mags power and has turn it off once. He is a high level sorcerer + scientist. There is really nothing mag could do to doom. Doom could just cast a death spell and instantly kill him or send him to hell.
And the sad part is that Magneto actually thought he had a chance.
