@Johnbuckley1983 and the smell of them burning that fuel. Even when the nitro gets in my lungs and I start coughing as it burns greatly. I do like the ease of use of electric but I will alway be a nitro addict
Nice engineered but I'm switching to to the Hyper 9 brushless. I just sold my Hyper 8.5 pro. I'm tired of the cost of nitro buggies. It's so expensive !. Brushless, same chassis, cheaper, faster and the same fun !!
no offence but i think tht u might have to tune engines alittle better if ur only getting 4 months per motor unless of course u pro race them. i get my motors to last at least a year
Apparently it's very good, and I would believe that. One of my friends has a hyper 9, and it handles pretty good. If you buy a Baja 5B, you may not be able to run it due to noise restrictions or whatever.
I would pick the Hyper over the Baja, in my opinion.
plus, you will know what is broken at a glance (if something breaks at all) and you will know the structure of your car like the back of your hand, which will help you save time and money
LOL $400 cheap. And I like assembling my kits. You would be surprised how many mistakes are made at the manufactures. I am a Losi 8ight fan and dislike the fact they come in race rollers. I wish they were a kit so I can assemble it myself. I basically dismounted the whole 8ight when I first got it. That way you can pick your own shock fluids, diff fluids, and setup without having to dismount the car first.
this is pretty cool but the only thing is the chassis and the skid plates are the same part so if u snap a skid plate you have to go thru all the pain of taking the engine and the differential and the reciever and servo and all that crap out.. it would much easier if the chassis and the skid plates are seperate
Strangest cooling head I've ever seen.

@wiggygfe To what? - do you have a name for the servo? :)
fred42771 3 months ago
@fred42771 i changed the steering servo to a Power HD DS090M and the throttle/brake to a Power HD 1501MG... any standard size servo should fit

Huh? Electric cheaper? In what universe?
Lillie1986 2 years ago 2
Hyper 8.5 pro and accessoires : 1700 euro
Cost in a month fuel, tires spare parts : + 300 euro in my case
Every 4 month an other engine : 170 euro
I live in Belgium and nitro racing is the most expensive model hobby !!!
doctorwhonico 2 years ago
Then you really have to suck at driving if you spend that much money on spares.
I promise you it wont be less expensive going brushless. One lipo pack is close to 100 bucks, a motor is almost as much as a nitro engine, plus ESP
Lillie1986 2 years ago
I had a lot of problems with " a lost car ". No control anymore...
doctorwhonico 2 years ago
Well you cant really blame nitro for that.

headlesschicken123 2 years ago
Dunno about that, batteries wont last forever, and lipo packs for 1:8 buggies are 100 bucks a piece.
Lillie1986 2 years ago
true but it really depends how crazy u go with ur hobby u know
headlesschicken123 2 years ago
Well that goes both ways
Lillie1986 2 years ago
i think he means the cost of the fuel and glow plugs. electric is just expensive in the beginning more a less like batts and motors
headlesschicken123 2 years ago
Electric is not bad but nitro is faster!
nlikos2007 2 years ago
@nlikos2007 Well is it really?
Lillie1986 2 years ago

caseyzdenek 2 years ago

I'm $150 away from having enough to buy the Hyper 9, but if I continue to save my money I can buy a Baja 5B. I just can't decide!

get a hyper 9

How is does it handle compared to other buggies?

I like the Hyper 9, but I don't like the idea of paying $400 for an unassembled kit. I might just end up buying an electric heli.
insecure53 2 years ago
Half of the fun in RC is building the kit up

i say Baja 5B
Unknown17177 2 years ago
Get a 5b so much better. easier to tune more durable and runs on gas so say bye to 40 dollar nitro gallons.
Xen5s 2 years ago
That's true, I buy nitro for $15 a quart. I'm already putting money aside for the baja, I just need $600 more.
