  • GEE WHIZ! This was wonnnnnnnnnnnnnnderful! Wasn't it!? I feel as if I am living in those times.....although I am probably imagining it, these Busoni interpretations on piano roll are so different from what we would hear now...I can only conjecture.

  • Busoni is one of my favorite pianists! Pax ei

  • Thanks gullivior.

    I didn't know this existed.

  • Use of pedal seems to have been of much more interest to these pianists from th earlier part of the 20th century. They used it as a texturizer of sorts among other things.

  • Thank you for this interesting upload! This Welte roll reveals the range of colors, the elasticity of rhythm and the imagination Busoni was capable of. Brilliant grandezza in it, in abundance.

  • Stupendous! Right up there with Hofmann's Chopin 4th Ballade, Horowitz' Scriabin

10th Sonata, Michelangeli's Bach-Busoni Chaconne or Nyregihazi's Liszt St. Francis Legende. Thanks for downloading!

  • I like Busoni with moustache :D

  • Jesus Christ. This is as close as we'll ever get to hearing Liszt himself. Until Heaven.

  • These rolls sound amazing.
