  • this is anything but boring washedinblood

it may be that these were my first 9min of Newlywed Game, but it feels more genuine when compared against many of the sensationalism and junk culture oriented shows on TV these days

  • These commercials are amazing. They're so much better than the one's played today.

    ======================================

CONGRATULATIONS Karen and Mike........with all of the bad news in the world today, it's nice to know there's still SOME good stories out there!

Thanks so much for posting this, and good luck on your next 33 !!! :-)

  • wow. we just got those christmas dishes last year!

  • OMG times have changed everybody on that panel woulda said either days or hours lol

  • @washedinblood Just wanted to say thanks for the upload. I'm 25 now, but not to many years ago, I used to watch all the old game shows on GSN with my girlfriend, until they stoped airing everything. Newlyweds was one of our favs. we used to play along with the show and answer the questions and see if we matched up. we did pretty well. now, we are planning our wedding which will be a little over a year from now. thanks again for the memories. and may your family grow even bigger with grandkids

  • Mark reminds me of matt damon

  • dang i wish food was still that cheap lol

  • Sorry... sorry, did they actually make a doll whose selling point was NAPPY RASH?!

  • Our Phone company back in the 1970's was Bell Atlantic..then the name changed to C&P Phone Company..

  • is this the prego addition?

  • The baby wets and GETS DIAPER RASH? What the hell? At first I was thinking it was a spoof. Do they make babies (dolls, I mean) that get diaper rash??? Next think you know they'll have babies that have colic and whooping cough and choking on a marble.

  • If only we could still pay only 3.69 for that much food D:

  • this is classic

  • Good choice leaving the commercials

  • I wonder if Bob ever got tired of hosting this show. He probably couldn't get enough of this.

  • $3.69 for that?? Ho damn!!!

  • WHOA..... Steak and Shrimp for ONLY $3.69! I wish I could travel back in time and eat at that place!

  • Comment removed

  • you taped this right?

  • @punkgirlphoto I had a friend tape it. Back then a VCR cost $1800.-$2000. which was a fortune in 1978. FedMart and the GTE phone mart are gone but Sizzler survives.

  • @washedinblood ya i noticed that when I googled those places. But wasn't there something else that came out before the VCR? Because my grandma had video cassettes of these type of VCRs and they were smaller than the ones that I grew up with.

  • @punkgirlphoto Yes, those were Sony Betamax tapes that were thought to be superior in sound and video quality. They only held an hour of content at that speed however and lost the race to VHS. Google "Betamax"

  • what year was it? early 80's?

  • How old is this???? Fedmark? Sizzler's??? GTE Phone Mart???? Really who really does remenber this odd things (exepect the Mickey Mouse phone)?

  • Are you on this? If so, who were you?

  • We are couple #2.Still married 33 years later.

  • @washedinblood awww ^.^ thats so sweet lol you got 30 years on me.. i've been with my bf for 3 years now :/ not married (yet) lol

  • @washedinblood You would have been great Goldyweds on the current version.

  • @washedinblood How many kids do you have today?

  • @eric442 Two, a daughter who is 31 and is a teacher and a son who is 28 and an L.A. County Sheriff's deputy. Both are married and my son and his wife are expecting their second child, a little girl in March. They have already blessed us with a grandson who is the joy of our lives. The little boy my wife was carrying on the show was stillborn on July 20, 1978 about 2 1/2 months after the show was taped.

  • @washedinblood Okay - I see you already answered my question. Sorry.

  • @washedinblood Congratulattions sweetheart. Me and my husband watched this on our anniversary, which is today. and we have been married for 23 years. I feel so happy :)

  • @washedinblood That is so cool! What kind of baby did you guys have? Hopefully not one like that stupid FedEx doll with diaper rash.

  • @washedinblood omg yey! you guys are so cute! :) i love this btw and im only 22

  • @washedinblood You STILL get embarrashed everytime you and the missus watch this?

  • @washedinblood It's because you guys waited years. Such a wonderful thing!

  • @washedinblood ^^ I congratulate you, Friend! May you and your loved one have 33 MORE years of a happy marriage!

  • @washedinblood wish 33 more happy years

  • @washedinblood aaawww <3

  • @washedinblood Wow! congrats :D

  • The commercials are as much fun to watch as the show. Thanks for the memories. (P.S. I was 15 when this aired).

  • Did you all have a boy or girl? Any other kids? I always wonder if the couples stay together after all these years....they really need to do a reunion show with those who were on it.

  • This show was taped in May 1978.On July 20th 1978 my wife delivered a stillborn baby boy who would have turned 32 last week. We did go on to have two children, a girl who is now 30 and a fifth grade teacher and a boy who is now 27 and an L.A. County sheriff's deputy. We are still very happily married with one little grandson and another grandchild due March 9. My wife is an absolute angel and I could not imagine life without her. The husband of couple #4 saw this for the first time on You Tube.

  • @washedinblood So Sorry about your Baby :(

  • Eubanks...looks more like Ted Bundy!

  • God I love old TV... the commercials were so choice too... Even though I'm 20 my generation was the last of the greats! With TV that was awesome to sit down to each night. What do families have now? Nip/Tuck? The Kardashians? Mtv without music videos!?!?!
