It did have a little to do with oil, but also a big part of this was peace keeping, 9/11 was when most of this started, and now it is still going. Let any other stable country go to war for 10 years and try to keep out of debt especially when alot of the things we import are tainted in some way so we cant use them, and also add to that that most of the world is in a little bit of a recession.

There were and still are good reasons for this war. Some of these reasons were just what we thought was going on, but there are still other reasons why we are still there. They have parts to do with this, maby not the reason why it started but... they do have a little. This started over 9/11 and then moved into iraq for multiple reasons, one of them being peace keeping you cant deny that because you were not the one who started the war. I said somewhere above that there were both good and bad reasons for this, some bigger than others, and all people are doing is pointig out the bad reasons.

Part to do with this? Don't be so naive. As much as we'd like to see the good in the US, the last admin. had an agenda, and that was to gain power in the middle east, have a foothold in East Asia and gain access to the middle east oil fields. The reason they didn't find Osama, once they did, they'd have to leave. The reason they claimed Iraq was dangerous to US National security, it's easier to push fear than greed on the American people. Bases built in both regions, mission accomplished?

Technically speaking, USA is far more powerful a nation, the problem is, Canada is far more respected on a global scale and would have the support of far more countries if the US ever decided to do something stupid and invade Canada. Here are some facts, the US INVADED Iraq, a country that had not done anything on an international stage since they were sent packing from Kuwait (who, FYI started that whole incident). The US claimed (by LYING) that Iraq had the ability to strike with WMD's (remember those?). Turns out Iraq didn't have any of these, nor did they have the facilities to build these.
1 - Saddam was no threat to the US
2 - Iraq wasn't a threat
3 - Just last week, the oil sands were 'bought' by big oil..

They did claim that there was WMD's in Iraq, they also claimed Al Quida (a fictional group FYI) was based out of Iraq. Bush claims it was false intel that led him to these certain actions, which I have no doubt is true, he simply wasn't smart enough to handle something like that.
You want statements? Ask the men and women who are coming home from this war. Ask them what threat Iraq posed to Americans. It's actually sad that you defend this.
