JUST CAN'T HARDLY WAIT TO SEE THAT BRIGHT AND BEAUTIFULK CITY. THANK YOU LORD FOR LABORING TO BUILD ME A MANSION, AND GIVING ME A ROBE AND CROWN!! NO WORDS COULD EVER IN A LIFE TIME PRAISE GOD ENOUGH FOR THE WONDERIOUS GIFT OF SALVATION!!!
Up on the isle of Patmus A man was cast one day As he was left alone to die He began to pray The Holy Ghost fell on him The Spirit, he came down
Well, he began to write about the things he saw The revelators' name was John John the Revelator He saw Jerusalem comin' down John the Revelator And when he looked around He saw feet like brass Eyes like fire Heard a great voice sayin' "Come up higher!" John the Revelator He wrote about the city of God
This is the first time I have heard GVB do this song. I love the song and this is a new version (only slightly) from what I have heard before. Good job! (yes, I know this is an older GVB)
YOU NEED TO GET THEIR(GVB) CD CALLED "TESTIFY" IN MY MIND IT IS THE GREATEST CD THEY EVER RECORDED!! MAN ALL THE SONG'S ARE SO AWESOME, YOU CAN'T HELP BUT BLAST IT THROUGH ALL THE SPEAKER'S YOU'VE GOT TO ENJOY HOW TOTALLY AWESOME THAT 1 CD IS!!
Well what can i say, but how have they escaped me for so long. Praise God, i love this song. And i found a new band , awesome music. Thank you so much for sharing it on here otherwise i never would have found you. God bless !
Is there another video of this song with these guys? For some reason the volume doesn't work on this one and I've tried everything. I really like this song so I thought I'd ask!
Hey Hoover let me start by sayin kudos from Indiana im a huge fan of your postings and ive uploaded several to my page and i have a quick query. What dates did JP tour with the vocal band i thought i saw you sayin somewhere that he toured before Dave but my math dosent seem to add up i must have my lines crossed somewhere any help would be appreciated thnx
This is an amazing song. I heard it 20 years ago when a group that was formed at my church began singing it, and recorded it. It is such a blessing. Revelation is a wonderful book.
John The Revelator is one of my favorites. It is hard to pick one exact song as your favorite, but this is tope on my list. What has happened to Jonathan Pierce, if anyone knows I wish they would post the infor. God Bless
Last I heard, Jonathan Pierce is an interior designer in Nashville. I would love for him to record again. He has an amazing voice...an all time favorite of mine.
Yep, Bill is a baratone, but can hit some pretty strong low notes. He's had the best basses in the business teaching him. George Younce, JD Sumner, Tim Riely and many others..... Bill does a great job!
At 02:42 his is not there, but at 02:44 he pops up, and then at 02:48 he has disappeared again. I just wonder if they have added to shows togheter? Looks like it.

2nd verse and chorus:
While in the spirit prayin' John turned around to see
If the voice he had heard Was what it seemed to be
Just like the many waters A great trumpet sound
Well He said, "I am the first and last." The revelator wrote it down
John the Revelator He saw Jerusalem comin' down
John the Revelator And when he looked around
He saw feet like brass Eyes like fire
Heard a great voice sayin' "Come up higher!"
John the Revelator He wrote about the city of God
