  • @Toyotacamry1993

That's the LA Reid and Babyface sound (they produced it), that was hot in the late 80's early 90's.

  • i love yooooooooou

  • Look, I'm 23 & appreciate this song as well as today's music. Why do older generations have to bash our generation so much? Turn off the Doug Baisden & think about what your parents used to say to the music you listened to as a kid.

But seriously, this song jams. It's impossible to not feel good while listening to it.

  • @juvib5 : I totally understand where your coming from as I am in my mid 30's and I actually grew up with music like this. Personally though, I think the complaint is more about the over sexualized content though. I mean..you have to admit that songs that your generation(not all) grew up with do contain a tad more lyrics that degrade women rather then just them. I think in another ten years, you'll find yourself saying the same thing to the generations ahead of you..lol.

  • @juvib5 I meant Michael Baisden. I only listen to his show when I visit home & my mother's in the car so I guess I mixed his name up. You get what I'm saying though.

  • such a classic song. just brilliant

  • 4 people have not received there red roses. Excellent tune

  • I talked to the lead singer D Mac at a local spot in Dallas where his band was playing. I kept looking at the brother and telling myself damn that guy looks familiar. After he sung a piece from "Roses Are Red" it finally hit. I knew then that he sung in The Mac Band. The brother can still blow.

  • This is by far the funniest and most random music video I've ever seen. Very bad too but still funny as hell :-)

  • happy, pure song! these songs you don't realise that you've remembered all of the words, until you hear them again and they magically come leaping out from back-in-da-day from your soul... with joy! thanks for posting!!

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE this song ... so simple yet so complicated ... the 80s rocked it to the max

  • 3 people have no ear for real music.

  • Wow I was in high school when this was out. So many memories.

  • I Still Play This Song On My Ipod!!!

  • @TheCaramelSkin Sooo?

  • This video must have cost a lot of money to shoot.

  • WTF is 87,000 views? This is a mad world.

  • I knew these guys. Once saw them open for Earth Wind and Fire. Good times.

  • AWSOME♥

  • It's a shame music does not have the same "feel" anymore (the lyrics, sound and voices) the mainstream songs that are played now have lost it's soul. I say the best era of music has to be the 70's (I grew p listening to my parents albums), 80's-late 90's for the Generation X kids such as myself. Now you have to be Sherlock Holmes to dig deep and find good music that mainstream and radio stations ignore....

    . so sad.

  • @dellculookin Lmao @ Sherlock Holmes! U aint lying

  • This was my jam back in the day

  • NEW STYLE OF MUSIC ON MY CHANNEL ! ! !

  • I saw this video on VH1 soul yesterday, brought back great memories of that time. What a beatiful and classic song.

  • Now that I'm listening to listen, you can tell Babyface produced this . . .

  • THIS IS THE BEST :D

    Wonderful

  • This is my song....I always have it on repeat...can't get enough of these guys....

  • love this song

  • this is.... 80s

  • Babyface And LA Reid Was So Busy In The 80's & 90's Producing Artists Left And Right From Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Madonna, The Group You Seein Here, Sheena Easton, TLC, Paula Abdul, Perri "Pebbles" Reid, Boyz 2 Men, Shalamar, The Whispers, Toni Braxton... :)

  • Knew these guys back when they had big-assed-afroes. Thats 35yrs. and running.

  • Written & Produced by L.A. & Babyface for LaFace Inc.

  • LOVED this song and this BAND!!!

  • The McCampbell Brother's are Flint, Michigan. There all graduates of Flint Northwestern High School. My Aunt still has Ray McCampbell's Senior Picture from 77.. He graduated same year as my Mom. Kelvin McCampbell graduated with my older Aunt and Charles graduated with one of my older cousin's.

  • Now THIS is music! Please, can we get back to this somehow? (instead of this CRAP we have these days!)

  • These guys use to attend my Church in Dallas

  • Another L.A. & BabyFACE hit. They produced alot of songs during this era they didnt get much recognition for. You really had to be an Album Credits reader or really know their sound to truely recongize their production.

  • @Rohobet

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa LOT of songs LA & BabyFACE gots busy on

  • Still got this on vinyl. A shame this dudes didn't go far. Talented bunch.

  • D**n! This song is the s**t! They some good looking guys, too. I wonder where they are now? Does anyone know what happened to them? I'm so sorry they didn't make any more songs. Love the beat, and the way they move!!

  • @CindaNJ I know Ray MCcampbell and he is now a Dallas police officer, Charles owns a little studio for teaching music lessons, I dont know anything of the others.

  • @callin011 Make sure you tell Ray that this song is STILL the bomb, & I hear it all the time on XM Radio!!! lol Glad to hear that some of the fellas are doing good. I would love to know what happened to the others & why don't they tour?

  • Thank God my mother introduced me to this music. Now i love it. All them Atlantic Starr, Billy Ocean...damn.

  • This song used to be a jam at family cookouts!

  • Superbe souvenirs... Excellent, merci.

  • YES!!!! I love this song...takes me back to my dad bumping this on Saturday mornings

  • The best of 80´s

  • lol. i was in 7th grade when this song came out and i used to dance the cabbage patch and shuffle to this one. this was TWENTY TWO YEARS AGO! O MY GOSH!!!!!!!!

  • The McCampbells are singing: Derek, Kelvin, Ray and Charles. Ray told me many years ago that MAC stood for Man After Christ... look up some of the gospel vids by the McCampbells family (next generation) and be amazed at come of them!!!

  • Are the McCampbell Brothers the ones that are singing or are they the ones thats playing the instruments? I thought that the Mac in Mac Band was short for McCampbell!

  • Great song!!!!

  • thank u very much! I've been lookin' for this song for so long! Loooove it!

  • OMG !!! hella good song and the dude in it with the suspenders and hat !!! shit dude is fine !!!

  • *sigh* What times...where are the men like that today?! They need to come out and get at women who would appreciate them!

  • nice one thr

  • a classic tuneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

  • Back when it was "ok" to think like that about how you felt about a woman and express it. Back when it was not necessary to call her a bitch or a hoe. Back when you dressed and complimented each other with some class (at least in appearance). Back when women liked being feminine. Back when it was ok to be a musician. Back when women actually liked men like this. Back when it was still ok to exercise some chivalry. Back before the word "simp".

    Yeah...we have come a long way...haven't we?

  • @KaptanSolo Jodeci and Bobby Brown helped bring about the end of this good dressing, and respect for women from an R&B standpoint, and good old Dr. Dre, ( Andres Young ) and Ice Cube from the hip-hop end with some help from Naughty By Nature. Wesley Snipes' Nino Brown throwing the pretty Al B Sure-like wavy brother Christopher Williams off the bridge in New Jack Swing did not help either.

  • I was born in 1968 in New Jersey.I remember when black men would serenade black women on street corners. But when the late 70's hit.I don't know why but black women found guys like that corny but found men who sold drugs on street corners sexy.I would subtract 20 years from my life to find out what it was that flipped black women.

  • @level242 I don't know what the answer to that question is but I would bet that money had something to do with it.

  • @KaptanSolo Blame the media for all this change we have the power make the difference and love and respect each other.

  • @KaptanSolo Man, you hit it on the head... All true words, my brotha.

  • Wicked tune.

  • WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAOUH !!!!!
