  • Just like a Rolls Royce, just keeps getting better with time. Thank you for sharing.

  • I likely will never own one of these. I do, however, have a nice 310B exciter--a lab prototype--that my grandpa procured while working decades for Collins. I'm satisfied.

  • @kc7fys Your prototype is worth a bunch, I would say. I had a prototype of the KW-1, bought it for 500 bucks in 1987. Restored it completely and sold it for ten grand in 1992. My prototype would probably would sell for 15 grand today. The KW-1 was owned by W0JTF who worked for Collins in Cedar Rapids in the 40's to 60's. Mike, W5MP.

  • Nice rig but id never be able to buy one. So i will keep my Drakes..

  • I needed the money to pay off some bills, but I didn't have the heart to sell her. I decided she was going to be a keeper, come heck or highwater.

  • Great rig, even with todays modern rigs it is good to fire up an old classic like the KWM-2. The glow of the tubes makes for a cozy shack on a cold night.hi! 73,Don, VO1XH
