Mikkeller is a danish brewerer (Just one guy), who rents himself into different brewerys around the world. That's why it sais that the beer is from Norway.
I was led to this after seeing a review of beer bacon nation by Hopzine, apparently a smoked version of this , both sound very good. The nearest place I can find any Mikkeler is a 60 mile drive, so I rarely go there. I'll see if I can find one or the other the next time I make the trek.
Cool you like norwegian beer! Looking forward to some other scandinavic reviews! Never heard of this one I'm afraid but I like light beer (corona, tuborg lime ++) best anyway.
Glad you directed me to this as I also loved the beer and totally missed this review when you released it. How does the coffee bitterness on this compare to the Terrapin W n B you just reviewed? I thought Beer Geek Breakfast was a huge coffee flavor but I've really tried nothing else comparable.
Congratulations on the 100th review Greg! Great choice of beer, one of my favorite beers by Mikkeller, im glad you liked it. I actually reviewed this for breakfast, with my breakfast haha :-P Cheers!
There is no Mikkeller brewery, it's just a guy going around contracting breweries to brew his recipes. So his beers are brewed all over the place but the guy is from Denmark.
I haven't tried this one but I have had the Weasel version.
meh.. thought about going out to buy some for tonight, but the wineshop closes in 7 minutes..
oh well, another time maybe..
and you are correct, greg.. norway and denmark is two different countries, although norway were under danish ruling until early 1800. then by sweden until early 1900's..
Mikkeller lists the ingredients in this product as water, malt (oat, pils, caramunich, chocolate), roasted barley, flaked oats, centennial hops, cascade hops, ale yeast, and coffee. what a great recipe. i want to get my hands on some.
This is my Favorite stout! I don't know if there is a better one.
