  • Hi there, I bet you, you have a condition called Samter's Triad. It's where a person is allergic to Aspirin and has nasal polyps and Asthma. The chemical in Aspirin is called Salicylic acid and chemical is in a lot of foods, mainly vegetables, Beer and wine. and a lot of toiletries. You can try and avoid these to feel better, but its very hard. I have had it for 14 years and have just been desensitzed to Aspirin and in the past I have had 5 nasal surgeries to remove the polyps.

  • I'm having crises of sinusitis, I'm in the second crisis ... under treatment. My sinusitis is caused by allergic rhinitis, allergy is not curable, what makes this problem getting chronic. anyway, my quality of life improved greatly after surgery, because the polyps removed.

It is important to know the cause of the problem. sometimes it's just a cold and so poorly maintained.

  • hi there.. does it hurt during the surgery? I do have nasal polyps too and i've lost most of my sense of smell..

  • @feedstirr Hi!!! I took general anesthesia so do not feel any pain during or after. on the second day, which started the trouble. Nose blocked, eat, drink, breathe ... it bothers you. But when the dressing is removed, it seems that you have a new nose. For this reason I would do it again if it were really necessary in the case of polyps that's necessary. Take care and if possible, keep me informed. God bless you!

  • I'm fine, but I'm still very careful with the daily nasal cleansing. I suffered an infection two months after surgery and therefore also a small loss of smell, hope it comes back soon. Did treatment with strong antibiotics.

I hope everything goes well in your surgery and recovery, seems to be very serious your case. Keep me informed of progress.

  • Nice to hear your operation was a success. How are you doing now? I'll be getting my polyps removed soon hopefully. They've gotten to the point where I can see them in the mirror and feel them with a finger.

  • @666KyuubiKid666 What did you do about it?

  • @NilsiRodriguesAdair Got 'em removed! Much better.

  • @666KyuubiKid666 Good for you!!! How long you removed it?

  • @NilsiRodriguesAdair 5 months ago. Been fine ever since. :D Even though the removing of the nose packing was the most traumatic part of the whole procedure.
