As fun as the SRT-4 is though I also have a Toyota MR2 MKII Turbo and that is my favorite car. Not as quick as the SRT but def. more fun to drive being mid-engine. So I'm not just some American or Dodge fanboy. I can see it both ways.
Funny that I found this video because my cousin has an Si and I have an '05 SRT-4. Both cars have their good points and bad points. This has been a subject of friendly debate for us for some time. We have gone so far as to trade cars for a whole week. His Honda has the build quality and if you factor in the handling it is very fun to drive. But performance wise - even he agrees that my SRT-4 is quicker. I can run 13.9 all day and I'm the first to admit I'm not a very good driver. Bone stock
this is why i love my 93 LT1 firebird formula. I/E CHIP 160 STAT 3:73's 121,000mi and considering it's 18 yrs old now still runs 13.70's. i'm 54 and keep it running like the day i picked it up.alot of people run up against tired/abused LT1's but a good running LT1 can still put a hurtin' on alot of modern muscle. hell i won't do it because i take care of my car
but if i would take my son's advice and hook up a 125 shot it'll be in the 12's without touching the engine,enjoy your cars !
im pretty sure the cars are evenly matched. they both failed a launch and both ran close times. those civics might not have too much hp but they can perform well with a few mods. just a turbo alone is a massive change. or in this case supercharger. didnt hear a BOV for turbo

stock srt-4 runs high 13's. gimme a break. maybe with slicks on and running at 1feet above sea level. come to MN and try to run that in stock srt-4. not gonna happen. however honda's do very well up here cause the 2nd gen VTEC self adjusts very well to pressure changes.

and to make everything clear 03 srt 4s are diffrent from 04-05 srt 4s, 03 did not come with LSD and had smaller injectors that were later upgraded in 04 to bigger ones and LSD was then added into the 04s and 05s as well as a diffrent more advanced pcm (ecu) higher rev limt, better throttle response and acceleration. the cars not to be fucked with and chances are if u see one its not stock soo i watch what you say about it cuzz you mayb eatin your own shit your spwein out when you get workd by 1

for NA 2 liter, The 06-09 SI is the best in its class. Find another 2-2.4L NA car that can do what the SI can do from factory. 11:1 compression, under 3000lbs, high safety ratings, great suspension, great price. Any other car you try to compare either wont be NA, or will be out of price range or bigger engine.

14.4 is nothing to brag about. I think 11sec is good for a street car. Anything below shouldn't be risked involved being totaled by an idiot on the road and should remain souly on a track.

no, I don't have a 11 second car, because I am building my OWN Celica GT-Four ST205. Once that is complete, I will be 1 of 4 in all of USA to have one done. Stock will easily pull 13's. You can rev a Honda engine to 12K, and all your doing is straining the motor. The powerband doesn't stretch to 12K and it's useless to brag you can do so. Honda has made a V8. It didn't work for F1 so they sourced a Mercedes V8 instead.

Yeah, but who cares if you can rev all the way to 12K? That falls outside your powerband and your engine is doing absolutely NOTHING at that point but stressing itself. In '06 Honda Racing F1 had one of the most "powerful" engines at the time, but it had sub-par performance. This year they took Mercedes engines over Ferrari engines for F1.

Most motors I know of can run some type of forced induction without damaging internals. There is much more to engine stress than just revving it; I can build a motor that revs to stock redline but pushes too much boost and break it. Also, try reading up on F1. They use 2.4 liter V8's. Please do your research before you talk out of your ass.

I can take an LS1 engine out of a wrecked Camaro SS from '98-'01 and supercharge it with 8-10 pounds of boost no problem. Try running 8-10 pounds of boost on an Si motor without tuning it or upgrading the internals. Granted 10 pounds varies from turbo to turbo with the size, but it's not uncommon to run 8-10 on a stock, untuned LS1 versus the "safe" number of 5 psi on a stock, untuned Type R motor. LS1's can hit 550 with no reinforcement. Hit 300 on a Type R, and you're looking at forging.

Stock 230 hp turbo neon vs. full bolt-ons modded Si.... Not to bad...... the stock Si's run 0-60mph in 6.7 sec stock and the 1\4 mi in 15 flat @ 94 mph.... the stock SRT4 neons ran 1/4mi in 14.2 @ 100 mph and 0-60 in 5.7 sec.... However the new turbo Cobalt SS (2008-2009) run 0-60 in 5.5 sec and the 1\4mi in 13.8 @104 mph Stock.....
yea but the ss is running higher boost levels. plus if the civic had a turbo it would destroy both cars. these civics can make 400 whp on 8psi with the ajp turbo kit. i shit you not. lol. if you had a ss/tc with a k20z3 in it it would be much faster than it is now.

and to make everything clear 03 srt 4s are diffrent from 04-05 srt 4s, 03 did not come with LSD and had smaller injectors that were later upgraded in 04 to bigger ones and LSD was then added into the 04s and 05s as well as a diffrent more advanced pcm (ecu) higher rev limt, better throttle response and acceleration. the cars not to be fucked with and chances are if u see one its not stock soo i watch what you say about it cuzz you mayb eatin your own shit your spwein out when you get workd by 1

first off these kids both suck at driving, not to burst anyones bubble but it is completly dead quiet at the launch from both cars witch is terrible that means the both of them dont really dont know how let off the clutch and launch at a higer rpm so there for srt 4s failed launch porves its track time garbage and could be so much better and so is the same for the civics to be honest, i own a 04 srt 4 and i ran 13.87 with stock g force tires launching at 3,000 rpms.

for NA 2 liter, The 06-09 SI is the best in its class. Find another 2-2.4L NA car that can do what the SI can do from factory. 11:1 compression, under 3000lbs, high safety ratings, great suspension, great price. Any other car you try to compare either wont be NA, or will be out of price range or bigger engine.
Nice run SI. (i know that SI wasnt stock, but was close to it. Prolly Intake and exhaust at best)

no, I don't have a 11 second car, because I am building my OWN Celica GT-Four ST205. Once that is complete, I will be 1 of 4 in all of USA to have one done. Stock will easily pull 13's. You can rev a Honda engine to 12K, and all your doing is straining the motor. The powerband doesn't stretch to 12K and it's useless to brag you can do so. Honda has made a V8. It didn't work for F1 so they sourced a Mercedes V8 instead.

Yeah, but who cares if you can rev all the way to 12K? That falls outside your powerband and your engine is doing absolutely NOTHING at that point but stressing itself. In '06 Honda Racing F1 had one of the most "powerful" engines at the time, but it had sub-par performance. This year they took Mercedes engines over Ferrari engines for F1.

Most motors I know of can run some type of forced induction without damaging internals. There is much more to engine stress than just revving it; I can build a motor that revs to stock redline but pushes too much boost and break it. Also, try reading up on F1. They use 2.4 liter V8's. Please do your research before you talk out of your ass.

I can take an LS1 engine out of a wrecked Camaro SS from '98-'01 and supercharge it with 8-10 pounds of boost no problem. Try running 8-10 pounds of boost on an Si motor without tuning it or upgrading the internals. Granted 10 pounds varies from turbo to turbo with the size, but it's not uncommon to run 8-10 on a stock, untuned LS1 versus the "safe" number of 5 psi on a stock, untuned Type R motor. LS1's can hit 550 with no reinforcement. Hit 300 on a Type R, and you're looking at forging.

Stock 230 hp turbo neon vs. full bolt-ons modded Si.... Not to bad...... the stock Si's run 0-60mph in 6.7 sec stock and the 1\4 mi in 15 flat @ 94 mph.... the stock SRT4 neons ran 1/4mi in 14.2 @ 100 mph and 0-60 in 5.7 sec.... However the new turbo Cobalt SS (2008-2009) run 0-60 in 5.5 sec and the 1\4mi in 13.8 @104 mph Stock.....

All i gotta say is that the new civic si 06 and up are all engin with 197 hp stock, you slap a turbo on that and you would beat any other four cyl with a turbo. I actually own a 07 si and i hate how other people hate honda i wish they made the si with a turbo stock and then compare the two there wouldnt even be a race.
