Yeah his 280 statement really under rate's this car for 2 reasons. 1. It translates to around the high 300s at the flywheel, or a little better than the stock ratings in the mid 300s (also at the flywheel). 2. And matched against most of todays smaller engines rated at the same hp in an identical weight car, these larger engines are usually 'quicker' because their torque was well in the 400s. Whereas it's common for a 4 banger to produce only the same or less torque than their hp rating.
