Ramona by Dolores del Rio can also be heard on the soundtrack of the French film "Harry un ami qui vous veut du bien" (released as "Harry he's here to help" in the UK and "With a Friend like Harry" in the USA). Second time is while the end credits roll.

This song is great I love it and this version is sooo sweet and Beautiful. Before this I had only heard The Bachelors version which I also love. Thank you for posting this gem =)
All of you, tune in to Abendstunde and the marvellous publicity paintings for Ramona with thrilling text, a cultural treasure trove! Dolores del Río was a household name in Sweden, everybody loved her, and some of us still revere her! One still hears her Ramona being played on the radio. In Acapulco of the 1960s and '70s Merle Oberon and Dolores were best friends. Great to think that the two major beauty goddesses of all time were so close! Nobility of sentiments indeed!!
I have listened to many versions of this song and I must say I like your version by Dolores del Rio the best! Her voice is beautiful and her interpretation is quite touching. Wonderful accompanying pictures, too!
Dolores Del Rio was a very beautiful, very talented actress. When you think of beauty,Dolores Del Rio,immediately, comes to mind,as I said many times,Dolores Del Rio is like a statue, come to life.Through out her film career, her beauty never left her.Her facial features seemed to make her more beautiful as she got older. She aged grace fully. And the only other woman who that happened to was my late wife,Josie.
Whoa, this amazing actress deserves more-a lot more- more than more- recognition in the states! What a beauty, what a talent, what a voice. I am so bored of the praise of overrated actresses like Marilyn Monroe everywhere.. I say more Dolores del Rio!!! A lot more.
thank you so much for this. once upon a time i had this on a vinyl lp called "stars of the silver screen". it has yet to be reissued on cd and i doubt it ever will. i have been searching for this! you tube is the future!
My darling friend Módar of the highest nobility of Iraq loves "Ramona", we sing it together all over town, in Arabic and Swedish. All of my friends know it is the only song I want sung at my funeral! I know there exists a last copy of the film in Czech archives - can't influential people like Retro Arcáico Rex and Jurek and 240 252 do something to get "Ramona" on DVD?? Some of us don't want to leave this world without first seeing "Ramona" and the divine Dolores del Río playing her!!
Immensely touching, makes me cry! Dolores recorded this song in 1927 before the verse was quite settled, so the first line sounds a bit strange. I was a little boy visiting some relations who presented me with a cardboard box filled with chewing gum photos of the stars of the 1920s, and I fell in love with Doña Dolores as Ramona. My grandmother gave me the Swedish translation of Helen Jackson's book, 1899, and my aunt gave me the sheet music. This is my all-time favourite song!!
I haave several versions of this song, I love it so. But not this one. Miss Del Rio's "voce" is so befitting to this song. "Ramona we'll meet beside a waterfall..." They just don't write songs this beautiful anymore.
Thank you. I only knew the version of the picture with Loretta Young and Don Ameche. I don't think they played the song in that picture and I always felt they should have. I would have loved to see this one.
I never knew Dolores had such a beautiful voice. I have to watch every day to hear this beautiful lady. I love all her movies and the way she sings this beautiful song.
