Gold prospecting and gold panning are great fun and you can find gold if you know what to look for... Otherwise you may not find a thing.

@Mcrichalot12 oh okay i buyed this year a pan for 18.50 euro incl. delivery charge and i am go to turkey to find gold but i found much and i believe now that this hobby is a money make hobby. i am from Netherland and i go maybe in 2012 to Amerika to find gold for fun.

Ive been to the Cotton Patch Gold Mine more times than I can even count. Always a good friendly place, with plenty of hands-on guidance to help the First-Timers. The 'General Store' has everything you could need to help you get your gold out of the ground and into your bottle.

New London is in North Carolina where US 52 and NC Highway 8 come together. Not far from here is the Reid Gold Mine where the largest gold rock was found in the early 1800's. It weighed around 24 lbs if memory serves me correct. I looked at this place when I was living in my trailer. Great group of folks here and its in one of the richest gold area's of the east. There are several places similar to this one throughout the Stanly/Cabarrus/Mecklenburg area of NC. Great vid, thanks for posting.

I tried gold panning, found about 3 flakes that I let go back in, I gave up.
I find more gold now in the casinos just on the floor ear rings and chains so far.
