@LuckyStrikerxo Very unoriginal plot twist (OMG he killed his brother, I totally didn't see that coming, it's not like it's been done before in SH2), too much action oriented, PYRAMID HEAD in the game, borrowing elements from the movie instead of having it's own imagery & looks. Among others. On the other hand, the bosses and music were cool.

@BortzOfficial but he didn't intentionally kill his brother, because it was an accident. In 2, the guy wanted to kill his wife on purpose. Pyramid head was there because it is part of the city as an executioner. It's not exclusive to 2. The version in 2 is exclusive to James, and the version of homec is exclusive to alex. version as in how they look. konami gave the team very little freedom and very little time and budget. the game even looked much better in the previews

@zalgrad85 OR you can give it the easy explanation: They tried to use fanservice by bringing back stuff from past games, thinking that would satisfy the fans. And Pyramid Head it's not part of the town, doesn't make any sense.

@BortzOfficial videogame making does not work that easy way. PH is part of the town he's the whole executioner role. There's paintings and drawings and everything. "Red Devil" "He" Even Walter's dad took on that form. And there's more than just one, more than just 2!!! It obeys Samael only, but when it doesn't have anything to do, it plays the role of a little troll-ish creature if u know what i mean. It plays around but only kills when samael orders it.

@BortzOfficial the teams worked day and night with what little freedom they were given by konami. next gen consoles aside the poor modellers weren't even given proper lighting or shaders for their models.

BUT now they have more freedom. You can see this with shattered memories and soon downpour. They finally break out from the endless circle. They finally can do their thing. no connections, no recurring themes, fresh new white page know what I mean?

This game and american mcgee's alice share one thing for me. The main characters come from a mental hospital. The things is, some years ago I also had to spend time in a mental hospital and was diagnosed with...bad things. Anyway I got out, and that's why I could really emphasize with the character(s).

Not the best game obviously, but something I would check out again from time to time. I think this is a different perspective for enjoying a certain game.

@FulgoreTXV that's interesting, because the silent hill fanbase is so divided, that even if Team Silent would get back on the games, people would still be enraged. This is because lots of things are left to the players to find out, so everybody has their own opinion of -for example- what are the monsters.etc.

Another thing is that fear is very relative. Some guy wouldn't even twitch their eye when he plays through silent hill 3 but he would shit bricks if he would play dead space. It's different

@dessan18 Precisely, I've been told for YEARS that Fatal Frame was infinitely more frightening than Silent Hill, and when I finally sat down to play it I found it slow, boring, and occasionally forced. Meanwhile I consider the Resident Evil Remake and Silent Hill 3 two of the scariest games ever made. It is completely subjective whether or not you will find something scary, there is no one size fits all remedy.

@txprodigy95 the movie was separate from the games in terms of plot but this game has a lot of the elements of the movie (and the original SH games), like pyramidhead, the order, and creepy hotels, hospitals, etc. If anything, watching the movie adds to the gameplay.
