@GeneHeim1 Yeah tell me something I don't know I know the whole story. I read Boss of Bosses by O'Brien and Gotti: Rise and Fall by Jerry Capeci and Gene Mustain. In both cases they don't label Castellano as street guy, he was a legitamate businessman and Carlo's brother in law that is how he got upped and passed Aniello Dellacroce who everyone that was gonna replace Carlo. When Aniello got passed that is why majority Gambinos agreed on the Castellano hit. He didn't respect his capos.

@MobHeataEnt Paul didn't respect "street people". Nino Gaggi tried very hard to sponsor Roy DeMeo. Roy worked hard for Mr. Gaggi, stole cars and handled difficult situations. Paul gladly took Roy's money but stalled on making him. Made street guys think Mr. Castellano thought bad of them.

Mr. Castellano had an affair with his housekeeper with his wife in the house. This scandalized street guys, made them think Mr. Castellano was "soft" and unreliable.

This scene really echoes the real life shooting of Paul Castellano outside Sparks Steakhouse in the 80's. Butchy driving by and stopping to look at Doc's body is exactly what witnesses said Sammy Gravano and John Gotti did at that scene in 1985. Only, the shooters wore long white trench coats and black fur Russian hats, not track suits.
