  • I've never heard this version before - I thought it was Frank Ifield's song. It's amazing and wonderful that people have kept this sort of thing and are now sharing it with everyone :-)

  • Lita was noted for her gowns and quick changes between songs. Before the days of velcro she just wrapped her skirts around her waist. I saw the band at the Colstton Hall Bristol in 1954 from the quoir stalls back of the band and she sang one song with Dickie Valentine and Dennis Lotis standing behind her. They had their hands through the back of her skirt all the time she was singing. One of the lads said about it to her after and she told him" Oh they do that to help me hit the high notes"!

  • As a child, I didn't appreciate Lita Roza when I heard her on the radio, but, thanks to this posting, I am deeply impressed: what superb articulation, along with a lovely voice! In those days, the singers would have been thoroughly trained, I suppose. If so, it certainly shows here.

  • YES, we remember you too. Wonderful lady.

  • A truely great star, I have her wonderful voice on some 78's she recorded with Ted Heath in the early fifties - what a terrific singer and performer - and she gave me so many fond memories I will treasure forever. A major fan from Germany.
