These Cats are Incredible. God I love them what a great band. I so miss Nirvana so much but its so good the see Dave with such a great group of Cats. He is one of my Heroes.
dave was ambitious......kurt cobain was his vehicle ride.....when thats over he jump ship and literally copy kurt cobain playing style, writing, melodic, humour, ect...need i go more??
i like the foos too BUT the foos and DAVE has become too arena rock bands ....theyr like reo speedwagon and journey type of bands.....which is kinda dissappointing....
I loved the Friday Night show back before good internet and no cable for us at the time it was the only way to get the latest videos back then. To bad they did away with it. That show is the reason I first started liking the foo fighters when they played monkey wrench.
@manhuntruler2 They don't get along all the time. They almost broke up back when Dave was playing drums with the queens of the stone age. Look at all the different guitarists they've had as well. Nate the bass player almost left the band back when they were becoming big.
Nate is on stage right, man that is so weird! I love watching all these old videos with Franz Stahl in because I only became a Foo Fighters fan when they brought out 'One by One' album and it's interesting to hear different versions of the track.
@TheSuberJebus14 I think I had a magazine with Jonathon Davis wearing green form of track pants. He can wear just about anything though. That's what rock is all about.
Rock n Roll Marathon 2011 in San Diego-band Pullman Standard sang "My Hero" song for the runners. They sang it awesome------------and we needed that song at mile 16!!! it's on YouTube and definitely worth listening to.
I like Taylor, but the original drums to this are actually significantly better, and much harder to play. Taylor's version has always been a watered down version. Maybe Grohl or the producer wanted it that way. Sounds fine, but different. Goldsmith underrated.
@SteamProVidz As much as like Goldsmith he didn't play on ANY albums. All the drumming for The Colour and The Shape was re-done by Grohl, Goldsmith got pissed and left, can't blame him really, as much as I love Dave.
@5oulPower i have in fact played music live before. I play drums for a band, and i personally always make it a priority to keep the tempo steady, but not totally robotic at the same time
God damn! I cant think of one band nowadays that will be just as popular as they were 10 years ago, but Foo Fighters are still huge and this performance was over 12 years ago. So sad. They are amazing. So much staying power.
@gh0stmasta The only thing similar is the long blonde hair really..His name's Taylor Hawkins btw look up his side project pretty good, Taylor Hawkins and the Coattail Riders.
This was originally on "The Tonight Show w/ Jay Leno" - the "Friday Night" show was notorious from picking/editing performances from other NBC shows and just simply pasted their logo over the video feed.
Soo Im watching this video for like ever and I start to talk about why the hell does Chris Shiflet look so different only to realize its William Goldsmith. -__-
@hanusanus666 No he's not the bassist Brother- He was just a close friend of Grohly's. He only had any music input on one Foo fighters song- A320 the b-side song for Godzilla soundtrack. He left cuz he wasn't going the same way the rest of the band wanted to go for 'There is Nothing Left To Lose'. Dave cried apparently when he kicked him out.
I LOVE this song and I wish that they played it like this live again. They always do it acoustic now which I like but there is just something about the kick ass drums at the opening of this song that I miss when they do it acoustic now. Still LOVE them though... keep on rocking!
@ramblinwreck413 I think you start playing that way when you just don't have to buy your own cymbals and drum skins anymore. Either way, it sounds and looks incredible
foo's used to be so good in concert...i saw em like 2 years ago...werent as good as they used be, still one of my favorite bands and still really good though
