I think both, the original and Rob Zombies Halloween films kicked ass. John Carpenter told Rob not to copy Carpenters version and that's what Rob did, and imo he did a great job of it. I really would enjoy to see Rob Zombie making a sequel.

I love Rob, but his version sucked asshole! He lost the concept of what the boogie man really is! Complete darkness! The boogie man didn't get pick on when he was young, have an abusive step dad, or have a whore as a mom! He was just a normal kid that decide one day to kill! That's it! We don't have to go all Batman Begins with everything and give an origin story! BTW Batman Kicked FUCKING MAJOR ASS other that Halloween 2007~!

rob zombie is the most amazing normal guy. i love this interview. i've yet to see the movie, but i plan to very soon. halloween is one of the greatest horror films and i was terrified of it as a kid. i was worried about a remake, but i've loved rob's twisted visions in his past couple of films so i'm totally excited about this one.
p.s. what's this "zombie get a haircut B.S.? can someone tell me what year we are living in again? wow. unbelievable.

..he made this for our generation of people, in a modern sense, so people in our generation can enjoy a movie that many others did.. and its not going to be completley compelled to be like the original, so in many older peoples eyees it would have 'fucked it up' but for the younger generation it wont matter, and thats what its been aimed at. they remake movies for our time, with our standards and our graphics, and its a great idea.

I think both, the original and Rob Zombies Halloween films kicked ass. John Carpenter told Rob not to copy Carpenters version and that's what Rob did, and imo he did a great job of it. I really would enjoy to see Rob Zombie making a sequel.
