  • I asume by the climb that it was a plane with the upgraded engines refitted

  • It looked like he was about to stall right when he took off, it was very cool tho

  • Fantastic Looking Jet Fighter!

  • This Aircraft is from the U.S. Navy Squadron VFA-102, The Diamondbacks. They are stationed at NAF Atsugi, Japan. And they now fly off the USS George Washington.

  • I was wondering if that paint scheme really existed. Way cool!

  • Yes it does.Just squad commander jet is pianted that way.The rest have the same scheme just in shades of gray and black.Back in the day all navy planes used to be very colorfull but i guess it cost to much anymore.

  • its not the cost, its too visible, all the other planes other then the commanding officer has a low visibility paint scheme

  • That is unbelievable thrust, I pitty the sorry souls on the ground when that beast comes rocketing over to leave a package!

  • Nice F/A-18F ! ;)

  • roger that!

  • What country owns that super hornet? Nice video by the way =D

  • im not sure. i think its japanese or american, thats a guess from a couple of things i heard and just put together

  • It's American - and it's Navy. You can tell from US's armed forces logo on the side of the jet, just below the front of the canopy (pause the video at about 15 secs). And at about 16 secs, you can tell it's Navy because the tail says NF on it (the white lettering right at the end of the tail - US Navy Hornets have NF, NJ, NE, etc on them), and it also says 'Navy' under the red tail behind the wing on the side of the jet. Google image search it, you'll be able to find many shots of Navy Hornets

  • Thanks for the info!

  • It's from the CVW-5 carrier wing based in Atsugi Japan

  • @HarrisonRuess: This particular F/A-18F jet is the CAG bird of US Navy Squadron VFA-102 Diamondbacks based at NAS Atsugi, Japan. (CAG stands for Commander of Air Group and is basically the jet that the squadron commander flies. In the US Navy, this means it usually gets a nicer color scheme and more care than the 'normal' jets in the squadron.)

  • THE F/A-18 IT'S FROM U.S.A.

  • @51Sarge51 The United States Navy. Its the CAG from VFA-102 "Diamondbacks"

  • @51Sarge51 That's from VFA-102 The Diamondback based in Atsugi Japan.

  • nice

  • yer...its nuts and i love it

  • that plane is amazing its engines are so powerful

  • yer i know, i had to block my ears when it was flying above me, you could hear the sound of the engines 3 seconds after it passed..simply amazing

  • i knwo once when i was at the ottawa/carp airshow an f-16 was there and it was so loud and it didn't even break the sound barrier cause if it did u would be deaf
