That sounds alot better than the basic stamp community then I searched for ever to find almost the samething you made Only problem was my program was not as easy to change
very impressive, how are you splitting the power for the arduino. Are you powering it straight with 18V? I would imagine you are using 18V for the stepper and 9V for the arduino.
Dude this is great I have been staying away from the adrino cause I started off with basic stamp but I would switch over For something like this How hard is the program for it?
@555MONKEY It's really not very hard. I had almost no programming experience before jumping into arduino. Everything I've learned has come pretty quickly and a large online community really helps when trying to figure out the small problems and details. I say go for it.
@Adamfierman Yeah, the language is quite simple. The libraries are all fully documented and the syntax is essentially C. Check out the Arduino homepage if you'd like to see more on the community side of things.
is the code and or schematic open source by chance?

As an ME, the prospect of learning to program seems well-within-reach now. I'm going to go ahead an pick up a kit or something. Thanks for the vids.
PS: I hope your dorm room doesn't have lever-style door handles!
