the says rock n roll heaven all over it great song this is coming from a classic rocker guy who like the beatles stones zep the who and classic rock r & b oldies i just love music.
good stuff/......I was a senior in High scholl when this was out...something up tempo..very different for them, but they ALWAYS had the midas touch!!!!
this is my favorite song by them! i just love the fact that they were able to somehow manage to get in the lyric .. " in his little orthopedic shoes" and it not even be out of place! what a CLASSIC!
My dad took me to see The Stylistics a few years ago. They kicked off the show with this song, and it became an instant favorite of mine. I felt bad afterward because the concert was free.
@crazydavedisco SIMPLE & GREAT COMMENT ! I 100per cent agree with you.....If you can only enjoy one or two kinds of music, i don't think you really understand or like music from your heart
@daytonahandful Let's hear it for being versatile and complex! My son is a "young punk" but he likes everything from movie soundtracks to Sam Cook, to old rock and TuPac. He's sure stretched my likes in music!
Aside from producing some of the most seamless soul around, these guys look like they could provide their own security. I used to watch Soul Train right after Don Kirshners Rock Concert. I always knew that most of it was mimed, but I still enjoyed both shows just the same.
Little known fact about this song for all you Bluefield, West Virginia residents, it says the name of your town and state right in the song. "He was born in a theatre, in Bluefield, West Virginia, his maw and I were travelin' on the road! So Rock on Bluefield!!!
I had the ipod on shuffle when "Rockin' Roll Baby" came up for the first time (after weeks of having it on the ipod), I wasn't sure I'd heard it before but as soon as the singer started singing, it all came back! The good times, no bills, no worries (I was 10 in '73). It almost brought a tear to my eye. I've listened to this song for at least 75 times since yesterday!! Beautiful music! Had to order the CD from AMZN. Thanks so much for this.
look it's robot man at 1:02 lol naw he's having fun can't ruin his fun it's the damn STYLISTICS!:-) plus miss 2009Denisem would kill me if was was makin fun and I'm not! so there thanks for this gem and sharing it sunnysidup82 dang that sounds good right now sunnyside up eggs n sum ham n sausages n gravy n biscuits damn shut my mouth mmm! lol
First thing I caught! the Robot in 1973? Wow it's probably older than that too. I always dug this song, as well as most everything else by the Stylistics. I've never had any idea of what the lyrics were on the back of the chorus; but with the internet, now I do! "I worked hard all that summer as a fill-in for the drummer"
wow.... i remember this song...

As an ageing punk, is it wrong that I should love this song and that performance this much? Guess I'm just complex.
