my baby girl was born with microtia 8 years ago-she is getting to the age where I think that it will be important to get it fixed-I have cried cried and cried -but she has placed in 2 beauty pageants-but I want to have this for her. We live in Mississippi-I worry about insurance though-we have Tricare with the military.

@sharbounds Hi, did you ever hear about shriners hospitals?? they can help you with the surgery they have a few hospitals in u.s.a. they are helping me with my daugther she had the same problem we start with the treatment when she was 7 now she is 13 and she is so happy, they help so many people at no charge you don't need to have health insurance to qualify , i just have the ph# for the hospital that is in Los Angeles Cal. call and ask maybe is one closer to where you live ph# 213 388-3151

It's amazing! I'm 35 yr.Old. l was born also with this problem, it was my right ear only, the sad part was that l did went through alot of bully during growing up, so its true like you said, psicological it still bothers, l hate the wind, l had a surgery when l was 7. He only fixed the bottom part where you put the earings? ok, then in 1997 the same doctor relocated me! l wasn't able to pay, so he did it for free,God Bless you.
