In EEIRP (and also on After the Goldrush), the echo (delay) on his voice is in fact louder than his mic, which creates an odd (an interesting) effect and also alters a bit his way of singing.

The loops on his voice are, as described above, create by Johnny on his Kaos Pad.

Me too....This performance, I thought, was comical. It's just funny to see them "rock out" sitting on the floor with their samplers and getting into a bunch of misc. beeps and chirps. I have loved this band since Pablo...and Kid A is actually my fav. so I'm not closed minded in the least. This video struck my funny bone, thats all... No ill-will towards my co-fans at all:)

What do you mean by playback? Jonny samples some of the things Thom says/sings and remixes and distorts it real time along with everything else going on the stage during the song. That may be what you are talking about. Especially as Thom starts EIIRP. He sang, "They were flying Mother Nature's

Silver seed to a new home in the sun," and Jonny sampled 'new home' and played it as Thom was counting "1,2.." down to the start of EIIRP. Make sense?

Look at 1:10 , Thom keeps singing after the gold rush and you can hear his voice saying "1, 2..." at the same time, then it's like he realizes that, and he says "1,2...", and you hear 2 voices (i think, the one prerocorded, and the one live)
