Another question...I have a LEICA C-LUX 3, and reviews have said there is only 5x zoom in video mode, however, I can get 20x zoom. 20x is even listed on the screen as one zooms in. Do you have any idea why there is this discrepancy with info on this camera? One major problem with this camera is not being able to zoom while in video mode. Thanks (hopefully you'll answer), again.
How to I increase volume during video recording? I use my ZS7 for concerts and whenever the drums or bass kick in- the volume gets very low... i just seen some other concert footage with the same camera and im not sure how they got the volume slightly higher. All of my videos on my channel btw are with ZS7
would you recommend this camera for AVCHD recording at rock/metal concerts? i know it has 2 built in stereo mics so itll do really good on bass, but if it doesnt do that well in low light do you mean as in night time recording? when i go to concerts it can be dark but they do have their stage lights so i dont know if that makes a difference.
I also consider buying a ZS7. What I want to ask you is whether there is any other camera better than ZS7 for the same price. I am mostly interested in its video capab. and I don't want that blurry image when zooming while taking a video. Same zoom would be great, sharp photos and not as bulky. Manual controls-fine, decent indoor/low light video or photos also fine. What about buying a refurbished camera for a lower price? What do you think? Thank you
I am trying to decide between the Lumix DMC-ZS7 and the Canon PowerShot ELPH 300 HS. I love how small the canon is and also i think I will love the menus. I also am tempted by the Lumix lens, how long it can be and apparently how good it is. I had thought the Lumix had a manual focus feature. I assume that happens when you pick a scene mode. I am very interested in taking photos which have some objects which are out of focus the way you can with an old fashioned SLR. Can you advise? Thanks.
I want a good point and shoot camera, i do take a lot of pictures at night. I also want to use it to take pictures of my nweborn. Thank you so much. Any other recommendations?
Great review! You do really great review, I recently purchased my nikon s8100 after watching your review. I noticed the s8100 scored 1% higher than the zs-7, why is that? What do you think the image quality difference between the s8100 and sz-7 is?
What camera that's about $100-$150 would you recommend taking the best videos in low light(indoor especially)? And being able to zoom in while taking videos as well?
Great review! How is the video quality of this and the Canon compared to say a FlipUltraHD, the Kodak Zi8, and other portable camcorders in that price range?
hi.. i like all ur reviews videos.. is nice.. i would like to know for u is better... overall and in video... the lumix zs7 or the nikon S8100.. thanks
I`m deciding between this one and the Canon ps210 is. Now I`m leaning more toward the Canon since it`s a little cheaper. Is the stereo sound recording for 720p comparable for both? Also, the battery not being AA kinda sucks.
I like this camera, some people I know say its really good, but im still having my mind between this one and the SONY HX5V one.
I've seen and tried that camera, it works so well, the pictures are great even at night, and the zoom is soo amazing. Like I zoomed 10x and still got perfect clear picture. Which one would you recommend?
I am stuck between two cameras. The Panasonic ZS7, and the Nikon coolpix S8100. The Panasonic meets my needs for mostly daytime pictures, and the necessary burst photo option, but I hear that you can only replace the batteries with Panasonic batteries that cost $60! If this is true, will the S8100 work for daytime photos?
Which is better? And are any of these capable of background defocus feature? I heard that T99 has 14MP and TX9 has 10MP? And I would like your suggestions on similar range of cams which I should consider too. Thank You
Thanks for this review. It helped me so much! I'm a tech-savvy Realtor and my main camera needs are as follows: 1. Easy, yet feature rich should I want to get creative 2. 25mm wide angle lens 3. Min 10x optic zoom w/ability to zoom video 4. Image stabilization 5. Mac Compatibility 6. SD** memory I narrowed it down and compared it to: Nikon Coolpix 8100 Sony Dsc-HX5v Fuji Finepix F300EXR Canon PowerShot SX210 IS The Lumix won. I love it! Perfect camera for me & shoots great video! No regrets!
Just found your view while searching for info on the ZS7. You're an excellent reviewer and I'm so glad I came across your video. I'm now subscribing and going to take a look at your other reviews. Thank you very much for taking the time and sharing your knowledge.
@infosyncvideo im looking 4 a very good camera for low light. i will be recording and taking pics, which camera do u think will do both? i was thinking bout da panasonic lumix ZS7 bt then i read a comment on this video and sum 1 said dat panasoinc doesnt do well in low lights b4 i thought bout getting this camera i was ganna get the sony hx5v. please HELP!?! i really want to take good pics and clear video of lady gaga, last time i went 2 see her i took a casio exilim ex-z90 and it sucked
Hi i'm really interested in this camera. However, i'm a beginner at photography, so not good at manual settings.. Would you recommend this camera for beginners?
I just bout this camera. now im looking at reviews. kinda on the fence if i made the right decision. im happy with the image quality, just wish low light was a little better. but. i do like it. so far so good.
I like your reviews...even the cellphone reviews. I have a question, I´ve been doing my homework on a couple of cameras and I would like to know which one would you recommend.
1. Nikon CoolPix S8100
2. Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS7
3. Canon PowerShot SX210 IS
4. Canon PowerShot SD3500 IS
5. Sony Dsc-HX5v
And last the Casio Exilim EX H20G (Not out yet) Thanks in advance
@burgavo1 That's a tough one. Describe the type of shooting you do. More videos or Still shooting? Do you like manual controls? Is zoom important, etc?
@infosyncvideosThank you for getting back to me so soon. You look like a pretty busy guy, specially on a Thanksgiving weekend. I'm planning on going to Brasil and Peru in a couple of weeks and I would like to shoot a few 30 minute videos during the day and a few of them at night. I will be taking more pictures than videos. I'm fine with manual control, but if you can recommend a camera with automatic controls I wouldn't mind. Thank you and I hope you have a wonderful weekend. Your videos r gr8

Thanks for the review. Is there a difference between the one which carries the Panasonic name under the flash ( less price on Amazon.com) or the one where it is written LUMIX instead of panasonic? What do you think about Amazon price ( 290$ !!! ) ? thanks. TA from Canada
I love my Pana-Lumix TZ10 *:o) (ZS7 in US... you guys like to always be different LOL)
There is no comparison, Panasonic kick Sony's and Cannon's butt in this instance, however, if the TZ10 (ZS7) didn't exist, I would go for the Cannon... but only cos it would only be compared to the Sony !!!
The one point you forgot was to give a shout to the Leica lens on the Panasonic Lumix... the Panasonic/Leica partnership are awesome !!!
Really appreciate this review. We bought the Fuji EXR80 and sent it back the next day. Very disappointed with image quality. I think we are now leaning toward getting the ZS7. Hopefully it will provide us with better pictures.
@MsAmazingMisty ..dont buy the sony i had a Tx7 & the pics & vids were nowhere near that of my old Panasonic FZ7....sad but true..I say Panasonic all the way :)
@VIAJER1028 Thanks! We would not recommend Sony over most cameras, only because they really haven't gotten their act together in terms of image quality coupled with all-around features. Hopefully those reviews will be out soon, but Sony is very snobby and we might never see these cameras anyway.
