Nobody, but nobody has ever played their vocal cords the way Janis did ... it's almost 45 years since I first heard her and she still gives me chills. Still remember the day I ran to the store and stole this Big Brother album ... and I still have it!

Looks like this if from Hollywood Palace, 1968, ABC, a variety show similar to Ed Sullivan aimed at "grown-ups" but featuring an act "for the kids" once in a while. The band is playing to a pre-recorded track as was usually the case on these shows, but Janis is all live and what a REMARKABLE performance she gives, especially as she's in front of an audience that's definitely not her crowd and gives her nothing back. Bless you Janis. No one has come close to filling your shoes.
