COD, Halo, Gears of War, Killzone (for the ps3 noobs, get a 360) and most survival horror games are shooters (Left 4 Dead, Resident Evil, Dead Space) and mario influenced umm... sonic. This is the most Influential not what you like and with out Wolfenstein there are no shooters so video games wouldn't grow into the huge market it is today and there would be no Machinima. Meh.. Metal Gear. Games would just be like mario- the same old story- or some shitty rpg. Metal Gear created the story process for video games. Stories that will be retold in the later future of Metal Gear, metal gear isn't just a game- the last fight on MGS4 probably made you say " Wow. " or " I remember that. " THAT'S the sign of influence. Game companies would want that to stamp their game into eternity.

So? I don't own a console, and PC is doing just fine, hell, it's doing great! PC is way the hell up there with ps3 and the 360, despite the little recognition that it gets by most gamers today. With that said, that would probably mean that PC would be the major tool for gaming, and no one would have any arguments over what is the better platform as we would all use the same one. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this seems better to me.

well, although modern warfare 2 isnt sold based on its stealth elements, it has i'd say 20% stealth action. many segments have your ai squadmate giving options like, "take them out, or we can pass on their flank". it is a shooter, but it can be stealthy if you play it in sneakymode

mgs4's stealth really improved.

assassins creed 2's stealth is pretty good.

uncharted 2 has great stealth elements (on higher difficulties)

modern warfare 2 has good stealth segments

so, good stealth action isnt as rare and confined to thief as you say it is.

Not a big metal gear fan, but im going to say either that or the Wolfenstien won in the arguement. Wolf because of the help it has had with graphics and such, but Metal Gear because of what it has done with other areas, such as the teling of the stories.
