  • OH MY GOD I FUCKING LOVE YOU! I'm 17 and this has been one of my favorite movies since I was 11! This movie is SO hard to find! You have no idea how happy you just made me!

  • They showed this film to us in school when I was 11 or so.Right before I went into junior high. Seems innocent by todays standards but it definitely influenced me in a bad way. Yes, I was stupid. Most kids are.

  • ok hash is 12 a g but an oz of weed is 75 who wrote that shit?

  • Its so sad watching these films there are less places for kids to hang out and be kids anymore now we are growing a whole generation of ant-socilites. One day they are going to realize that they need more then their cellphones and notepads and say I wonder what its like to be touched by a HUman.

  • I was 12 when this came out... little wonder why I became the delinquent head that I did... I felt like a cross between Ritchie and Johnny as a kid...

  • @herkiefishbine exactly what I was saying. This movie glamorized bad behavior. I couldnt wait to do all the stuff those kids did.

  • First time I saw this was on HBO back in April, 1988 as a 6th grader and thought the movie kicked ass, especially with its rock and roll film score. Then I rediscovered in April, 1994 when I was finishing High School and still thought the movie rocked. This is one of my Top 5 favorite movies of all time which I can watch and not get sick of nor tired of watching.

  • LOVE this movie

  • The only issue I take with this movie is the Rec Center. Who hung out there? P.S. I feel bad for the kids these days, the 1990's may have sucked compared to the 70's but at least in 1990's we still had real acid.

  • What a great movie.

  • Ahhhhh Matt Dillon!!!! How I was in love with him! Why oh why am I only just now finding out about this film???

  • this is a good movie

  • HAPPY 48th BIRTHDAY, MATT DILLON!

  • @IBreathHarryPotter yeah, someone actually cares!

  • awesome movie, i remember moving to a "planned community" at age 21 and I was thinking, "if this is boring for me, and I have a car and money and can drive elsewhere, what's it like for school kids who are stuck here all day?" those places suck...plus the kids in this film actually look like kids did in the 70s, rather than like twentysomethings playing kids.

  • Love that classic Bronco.

  • @stonedimaculate1983 It says it at the end of the credits

  • @stonedimaculate1983 The song is called ''ooh child '' by valerie carter

  • @stonedimaculate1983 the song title is ""O-o-h Child", it was originally released in 1970 by the group the Five Stairsteps. The cover version at the end of this movie was done by Valerie Carter. The song was written by Stan Vincent. In addition, the song has been recorded by many artists through the years... here are a few: Laura Nyro, Dusty Springfield, Nina Simone & Kelly Rowland. Hope this helps. ;)

  • @stonedimaculate1983 "Ooh Child" by Valerie Carter in this film, someone else did the version in boyz in the hood...

  • @stonedimaculate1983 The name of the song as the credits are rolling, is called "Ooh Child (Things Are Going to Get Easier). The original (and best version, to me) is by The Five Stairsteps.

  • Can't think of a better song than Cheap Trick's "Hello There" to open the show.

  • Matt Dillon's best

  • @KellyGreen5555 i know thats was cool of him. i like it too.

  • @countbloodula What?

  • @countbloodula Kurt Cobain was a rock musician and lead singer of the rock band "Nirvana".

  • ...and then God said "LET THERE BE PERFECTION!" And thus, Matt Dillon was born.

  • Thank you to matt11708 for bringing back a lot of good (and bad) memories of my childhood. I loved this movie. I was the same age as these kids were in 1979 and went through all of the exact same things (except for what they did in the end...not to spoil it for anyone).

  • Thanks for sharing, it was an interesting one. I was 11 when this one came out.

  • @mountaingirl9 i found out about this movie, when i saw a trailer of it very good movie.

  • @mountaingirl9 I was just out of high school, which I hated. The place was run by bullies that were _encouraged_ and _protected_ by the town and the school administration. If you stood up to one of the bullies _you_ got in trouble. I got an invitation to a reunion a while back. Here's what I wrote on the R.S.V.P. card: "Thanks for the invite. If high school hadn't sucked and most of your weren't a__holes, I'd take you up on it."
