this engine boasted the best 3D I ever saw on my GBA.

V-rally used the same, I played that and it was great. Blocky, yes but the screen is so tiny you won't notice.

Man... I had this game, and it's just awful. The graphics are pretty, yet creepy considering the head, but it doesn't actually feel like you are driving a car, and some of the mission objectives are literally impossible to beat.

alltrough this game proved that 3d was possible, but those publishers have to avoid that such 3d games are to hard to play, ,m mean in this game, for example in the later levels there,s nearly no room for errors and that,s pisses me off,if 3d gba games were easy and fun as hell to play it sure dit get more attention for it,s 3d potential!

The 3d engine used combines sprites with polygons. The car is a 2d object. Great for allowing PS2 type gameplay, but due to severe polygon distortion the world appears to be made out of jello. Walls bend as you approach. Straight lines curve. It's incredibly distracting. The Need for Speed series looks worse in screenshots due to a lower resolution, but once in motion is a full 3d game with reassuringly solid polygons. Choosing which works for you is a matter of opinion.
