Hasselhoff's acting is unbelievably shocking and abysmal. Who the hell let him act so badly, when he was great in the first half of the 1st Season. Seems when Glen Larson left working on the show day-to-day, Hasselhoff just got worse and worse to an extreme level. Even Paul Free's, who voiced KARR in this 3rd Season episode, was better than Hasselhoff, yet the latter's meant to be the lead.

The reason is Kitt has a Molecular Bonded Shell KITT is armoured with Tri-Helical Plasteel 1000 MBS plating which protects him from almost all forms of conventional firearms and explosive devices. He could only be harmed by heavy artillery and rockets, and even then, the blast usually left most of his body intact and only damaged internal components. The shell protected every part of the car including the tires. KITT could even act as a shield for explosives by driving over bombs to cover them.

Now, there's another related question. In the pilot, Wilton, Michael and Devon say that the Kight 2000 was built on Michael Long's car. But which one was the one built on his car... KITT? or KARR? Because if it was KARR, then KITT does not belong to Michael in any way, shape or form like he believes.

1: They could easily have switched KARR off, if they wanted to. We see evidence that it's not that hard to switch KITT off either. Especially if you are the designer.

2: I don't remember anything about Knight 2000 being built on Long's car. Since it takes years to design and build such a car, and they couldn't have known that Long will be shot in the head.. I think that was just a coincidence. But actually, KITT is the Knight 2000, so that answers your question.

So, they actually say in the pilot episode, that KITT is a Trans Am, because Michael Long had a Trans Am before? I am going to watch it again, but I don't think I will find evidence that supports this in the movie.

Not exactly. KARR was damanged in the first episode he appeared, and damaged again when the laser was destroyed. His programming could have changed, just like KITT's did when he had damage in other episodes. There is an explanation for this change actually.

Agreed they are pretty close but have the series on dvd and it is also credited on there. Cullen on season 1 episode and Frees on the second episode on season 3. Check out the clips again if you really listen you can hear the differences.

I've got all 4 seasons myself, and will go back to them one of these days. Coincidentally, I have couple discs in each of seasons 2-4 that have glitches (sometimes up to stopping playback). Have you had this happen? I no longer have receipts so exchanging at this point would be difficult.

Actually I have had this happen with but not that bad actually just the second KARR episode. I think that is only because my son has watched the episode at least 200 times his favorite. Only 2 or 3 pauses in a 30 second span so I guess it could be worse about 2/3 into the episode. Luckily not at the end battle or I would be upset.
