This could be the end of confrontation diplomacy. That worked when the soviet union was on its last legs but does not seem to work in the middle east. Often showing someone respect is more effective than threats.

NEVER IN A million years would people have though about this not ever 10-20 years ago. I agree. Hillary gave Obama great competition during the primaries. I believe Hillary is very qualified. I want to say Obama kind of owed her a position,but I don't want to sound negative because Hillary is respected all over the world because of her stance on world issues especially on women's rights in places like the Middle East and China. Condoleeza Rice was good secretary of state even though Bush was not popular with his foreign policy ideas. Hillary wouldn't have looked right as a V.P.

Hillary gets a lot of admiration from the voters, not least because she fought against Barack. By choosing her, Barack turns the joy of her supporters into a resource for the nationalist ideology. In that context, Barack's choice was very efficient.

I admire Obama for choosing a cabinet with a wide range of opinions. He also chose to keep on Bush's Secretary of Defense. He seems genuinely interested in doing a good job as he will receive much criticism.

Agenda is not a very strong theory of politics, since there is also social cooperation, and things that it produces, like fairness, freedom, security, equality, truth, socialism, stability. Obama may not simply aim for his selfish agenda.
