  • every time he says nobody dies.....everybody dies.

  • now warren was the only one alive i geus hill be sergeant

  • I did not know Hollywood made films like this anymore. And ever since SPR, films seem to follow that all too familiar formulaic shallow triumphalism. Thank you for uploading this!!!!! Brilliant film, brilliant war film! Made my day;)

  • thanks. this was a very nice video.

it high lights a lot of stuff about war that Hollywood normally leaves out

  • Hope you enjoyed it, Merry Christmas!

  • best war movie

  • wow, thanks for a good rendition of an obscure battle

  • Thanks, much.

    5 *'s

  • thank you very much for posting this film. I am war film buff but had never heard this film until today

    much appreciated

  • I feel sad at end of movie

  • this was not as flashy as like, saving private ryan, but it was just as powerful imo ;o

  • outstanding movie !thx for post !

  • This may sound stupid, but I would have loved to see a sequel with Warren as a toughened soldier.

  • Great film wish I knew about it sooner

  • To listen to the English I have difficulties, but I could not see subtitles for the film and understand the logic of the film. Congratulations! This movie shows a battle unknown to most people.

  • gracias, espero que haya disfrutado de la película

  • great movie, thanks for the post! God Bless all the vets from all the wars and all those who have passed both in battle and at home!

  • just to be clear, David died right? he was a badass soldier though

  • @SoldierDude199 Yes, he died the last time they show his face.

  • Why couldn't they blast the tanks with artillery...? Hell, why couldn't they hit the 88's from the air?! They looked plenty exposed :00

  • Only problem I have is the gun fire sounds - sounds like airsofts, and the actors look like they had no weapons training. Otherwise a good film

  • @Foley03A4 They sound nothing like airsoft guns whatsoever.

  • @TaZ101SAGA i was being sarcastic, they dont sound like real guns

  • @Foley03A4 because most of the time they are yards from you and you will only hear the snap or whiz prior to the weapon shooting,

  • @Foley03A4 Sounded authentic to me, not as loud as the M1 30-06 should have been but the Thompson was spot on

  • Btw what happend to the guy that got captured by the krauts?

  • @EasySixXx I guess they send him to some warprison and after german lost war he was able to go home.

  • thanks for posting this film. I am a bit of a war movie aficionado but had never heard of it...I agree with some of the comments about the flame thrower, and do believe it was a weapon that required some special training, not something that a grunt like Warren would just be able to pick up and use. The attack on the tanks would have been more realistic if ordered by the always clean Lt.Col Yoakam (must have been in his contract)...nice bit at the end..all in all very enjoyable...thanks again

  • Hoped you enjoyed it, thanks for watching and do click on the video sidebar if you want to see how the Hurtgen forest battlefield looks like in the present day!

  • i understand that the end was kinda like the beginning, but i dont get what he meant when the guy asked him what was so funny and he said "you." can someone please tell me?

  • @newagain13 He knew he was going to die. And the guy carrying him kept saying he was going to take him home. And that everything would be alright. It was one last laugh before he died. And also he thought it was funny because the guy had changed his ways and became a true soldier. The last person he would have thought would be carrying him home...

  • @RegistrationCop It was ironic, but I highly doubt he was laughing because of changing his ways or becoming a true soldier. He never was what would be thought of as a "true soldier" at any time through this story. He was painfully aware that his situation was dead square in the middle of a death factory and he was doing everything he could to survive. He went from hanging back to pushing for a section 8, then when that fell through took a shot with a mission that had a chance of survival.

  • @newagain13 because he was what he used to be. Manning said the same thing when he was a private in the beginning when he was carrying a dying man from his platoon "home". He knew he was going to die just like the man he had carried.

  • thx for uploading! :)

  • My pleasure, Happy Christmas!

    Καλά Χριστούγεννα

  • @NotesCollector Merry Christmas to you!!

  • Thanks man! This was my brithday present.

  • Happy belated Birthday!

  • i wonder, what happened to mannig ?

  • @GenGeogeSPatton you mean Manning? he died.

  • @IIproductionsII how do you know ?

  • @GenGeogeSPatton didn't you watch the end of the film??? he got shot and he was been carried away...

  • @IIproductionsII but he was just wounded

  • @GenGeogeSPatton Yeah, but didn't you see his eyes shut, he either fainted or died. I think the best bet is he died.

  • what the hell happened to the dude that got captured?? we dont find out??

  • @burgersforreal POW.

  • Awsome movie!

  • great movie collector!

  • did he die?? or pass out??

  • @kenken8765 did u see him bleeding theres no way in hell hed make it half a mile to a medic and live long enough to get patched up, he was dead and he knew it

  • Wow this is an awesome movie! Thank you so much for posting!! =]

  • Thanks a lot for uploading! Great movie!

  • Mijn plezier, hoop dat je genoten!

    Met vriendelijke groet, België:)

  • Jeffrey Donovan didn't have much of a part in this movie just the beginning

  • One of the better WWII movies I've seen. Thanks for uploading!

  • FIREWORKS!!!

  • I actually like this movie better than Saving Private Ryan. SVP is brilliant and all that, but still... I don't know. I guess I like the extremely depressing atmosphere in here. And I feel more sorry for Darren and Manning than I did for Miller.

  • You saved me like 3 - 4 dollars at the movie store, NotesCollector; Thank you! It was a great movie!

  • Good movie that holds the attention throughout.

I remember a b/w anti-war film from over 40 years ago at the end of which an American soldier was executed for desertion in WW II, though I can't remember the title. Whilst this was happening Bing was, similarly ironically, also crooning, but the song was "Have yourself a merry little Christmas", not "I'm dreaming of a white Christmas".

  • An American soldier excecuted in World War Two? That would be Eddie Slovik, if im not wrong - Christmas is often a time for peace & reflection, goodwill towards men, and he was possibly suffering from shellshock aka PSTD from what would scare the bravest men out there... RIP Slovik, a very sad story indeed.. " the war to end all wars"?

  • @NotesCollector Eddie Slovik was not a guy as how you think, though. Although, casesof execution like the Baxter guy in the movie happens all the time. And who knows if more of that had happened in the war?

  • What the heck? What happen to Despin?? He got captured and that's the end of his story??

  • @mrstarwarsfan102 Isn't the ending ironic?

  • @lovebacon777 Well yeah, why would Manning be laughing? LOL

  • @mrstarwarsfan102 "End of story"? Millions died, were crippled, or captured. Did you expect another Hollywood-made epos? Most of the war movies you get to watch today are just what the war movies back then were: propaganda. Watch part V of this movie, 5:00 to 7:40, if you are looking for a "point" to a war movie. Don't look for a "happy" ending or something.

  • @DevSolar I know, you don't always get a happy ending to a story, I've just been wondering what happen to Despin.

  • el gobierno pone el dinero y el pueblo los muertos. muy buena pelicula, gracias.

  • Thanx for posting this film. A classic for sure.

  • Thanks! One of the best war movies ive seen. Die Brücke is a good one too. Its just from the german side instead, go check it out! :)

  • Mange tak , hope you enjoyed the film!

  • I never herd of this battle before, thanks for the upload... i had a great-uncle in the war, really wish he was still alive today... and again, thanks for the upload

  • I watched it all! Thanks you!

  • Watch it fully on youtube I thank you again !!!!

  • love the upload - from a PA native - cheers

  • Quite a decent movie; awful music selection tho : | .

  • Thanks for the movie bud I last saw this movie when I was 7 years old.

  • Cheers mate, enjoy the 2010 World Cup now on in South Africa :)

  • @NotesCollector

not so fun when they blowing those trumpet things eheh...

you should upload more wwii films mate.

  • itwas good but jesus christ the gun affects....oi...no lmao

  • Thanks for the upload, man. Good movie.

  • pretty good war film from with unusual anti hero characters. however, I am not a big fan of the music and the gun sound effects are just awful. the m1 garand sounds like an airsoft rifle in this movie.

  • @blackbobby true, keep in mind the film is 12 years old.. and wasn't huge so didn't have a great budget, heh.

  • good movie but subtitles were bit fucked up ( at certain points )

  • My top 3 favorite warmovie. 1. Platoon, 2. Cross of iron 3. This masterpiece

  • @RareCandy999 ever heard of gea tuk gi? brotherhood of war also one of the best

  • its a repeat of manning all over again

  • great movie

  • Mange tak!

  • Thanks 4 the chance to watch this movie again its been a while Its one of the best war films

  • Dang Warren was great!!!

  • What happened to that private from Manny's squad who was captured?

  • @MangoWithHats who knows

  • i love when germans win

  • I wish Manning wouldn'tv died.

  • @MASR4 Same :( he even changed at the end and didnt care if he died.

  • Only bad part is the part where he jumps out, "Ah, I'm mad!" and threw grenades all over. He may have done it but he probably wouldv'e shown more emotion.

  • I HATE SAD ENDING ::( :( :( :(

  • the red blotches on their helmets is the insignia of their division, the 28th infantry... but its in bad condition so its disfigured but it should be the same as their shoulder patch

  • I love this movie. Adding to my favorite war movie list.

In my opinion Manning will survived since he is the good man, even though he looks dead for some, or unconscious due to blood loss.

  • Thanks for watching, happy 2010!

  • maby Manning did survive but he was reminescing of the beggining so maybe he'll die too.

  • Awesome movie, short and tight.

    No overacting or hammy speeches.

Very dark though, how the men treat each other....

  • dark times

  • Dark times now too

  • 3 questions, in the end was it really like that, like did it really end like it began or was that just for the movie? question 2 ; where in the hell did that snow come from and soo much of it?? did it take them THAT long to get out of the forest or soemthing? i mean 1 minute he's getting shot no snow on the ground, and next thing u know the ground is covered with snow? and 3 ; wouldnt the big red dot on mannings helmet be an obvious target? idk maybe its not as noticeable as i think

  • Answer to question two. I don't know about you, but I'm from Sweden and trust me snow can appear that fast (and disappear...). From a cinematic point, though, maybe they are alluding to the battle of the bulge that will follow.

  • i have a question, if you know please please answer this for me, the big red dot on david's helmet, wouldnt that be like a good target for the germans or something? idk maybe it wasnt as noticeable as i think it is but im just curious

  • i thought it was sweet how they ended it like they started it . this made me wanna cry soo badd :(

  • One of the best war movies ever made. I thought it was very clever how the movie went full circle. I did wonder though where all the snow came from. I guess it was to show us how much he was bleeding.

  • This movie is awsome

  • I live there where this movie was made! Thanks for uploading!

    !*****!

  • There might be better actors and more money for more realistic tankdummys but the horrors the soldiers had to deal with are shown in a very absorbing way. Thanks for posting.

  • The best. Thanks. For me, 2nd is The Thin Red Line, 3rd is Stalingrad a German made film

  • u surely r. i thought this movie is really great. it explores another aspect of soldiers. not herorism like most of common war movies but the genuine urge of not getting killed. i dont know how to explain this. the end was another form of call of duty.

  • There's zero character development, and narratively it's a mess. it's a series of moments that don't even coherently string together into a larger picture. And the dialogue is painful. It really is a pity, because there are some genuinely good actors in this, but they're struggling with poorly written material. A lot of comments on here are about how "gritty" it is, by which they seem to mean "bloody". But gritty alone does not make a great film.

  • This movie was excellent! It had a much more realistic element to it over saving private ryan. This movie is one of my new faves, thank you for posting this!

  • thanks for posting

  • Saving private Ryan sucked. It was all fiction. This movie however was awsome. It is also cool that they dont really have any famous movie stars which made this movie even better

  • It wasn't all fiction; it was loosely based on the true story of the Niland brothers.

  • I have never heard of this movie. Loved it

    Thanks.

  • I have always loved this movie alot of people never heard of this movie. People talk about Saving Private Ryan,Platoon,The Thin Red Line Ext. as being the best war movies,I really think this one is

  • Far more grittier than Saving Private Ryan!

  • that was a good movie, thank you for providing this movie on youtube, i enjoyed it. you tube needs more people like you to take there time to upload a whole movie on youtube like this one.
