  • could a gecko handle these? or they to hard shelled

  • how long do they take to grow. i bought some medium ones for my bearded dragon, just wondering how long it will be before i know what sex they are.

  • can i breed small dubia feeder cockroach's? i just want to breed them for fun...maybe get a turantula and feed them to it.

  • I bought some from this website and I ordered 100 adults and got no males! I'm so mad!

  • instead of a heat pad can u just use a heat lamp?

  • can i feed them to my frogs? :/

  • Females have a large last segment on their butt, males have a small one. same as nymphs and adults!

  • did they fly?????

  • how often do u clean out the bin?

  • will it be bad for my bearded dragon if i just feed it roaches and not crikets ?

  • I know this sounds stupid, but I have 2 adults right now, who apparently just had 17 babies. And my question to you is, how do I overcome my fear of roaches enough to where I can just handle them like you do. I want to, but am deftly afraid to try it. Any suggestions......?

  • @jettajason24 try putting gloves... like latex gloves that way you wont actually touch them they will be on yur glove... do some research and just know they dont bite or fly or hurt you in any way. If you can get yourself to just go and do it with the gloves then it wont seem so bad since you know they cant hurt you... then once you are comfortable just pick up a smaller one and BING its not so bad

  • @Swingarwolf1 I actually did in the time between when I wrote that post to now, learn to hold them without anything. That is a very good idea though Swingarwolf. And you're right, and just as I thought, once I did it, it's not so bad anymore. I actually kind of "enjoy" holding them for whatever reason now, LOL. I guess just because I can. I'm so glad I as able to overcome my fear of roaches...... :)

  • where did u buy the roaches

  • actually..how big is newly out live baby dubia roaches?....same size as ant rite?

  • switching from crickets to roaches = best sleep in months

  • @Kerberoz01 with you on that one

  • oh and i hate cockroaches but there pretty cute lol

  • lol my mother would freak XD

  • how can your heat them because heat pads are bad and can melt plastic

  • @snipesnrifles No don't worry they don't have so much heat to melt the plastic

  • were do i buy them

  • ask jesus as your savior! cool job taking care of them!

  • ask jesus as your savior!

  • i live in california and the weather in my room stays almost constantly at least 70 degrees, do i really need the heating pads?

  • OMG this is my worst nightmare. Kill them all!!!!! I can't take it!!!! UGH!

  • What about humidity?

  • hey is this enough ive got 1 male and 4 females and also 3 juveniles that could be male or female so is this enough

  • @hbuglilly of eggs wtf?

  • nice one mate :D ill be in touch very soon, buying my first batch just waiting for the order to come through

    :D

  • where did u get yours?

  • hey jw but do u know ant suplyers in canada havein a hard time find any in canada lots 4 the us thuo lol

  • How many roaches do I need to start acolony for feeding ONE beardy?

  • Canabalism, I never thoguht of that, i read about 50 guides and non ever said anything and i could not figure out why over 6 months I got a whole 10 more roaches. How can O get the protein in their diet up then? i've been using a combo of dog food and cricket diet...

  • new born babies to groe to a full adult?

  • Thankyou. This is very helpful. I am hoping to start my own colony this weekend.

  • anybody on here who can sell me extra small dubia in bulk? im asking for atleast 1,000. please let me know.

  • just they're expensive as hell

  • nice vid but most of the stuff is totally unnecessary

i keep mine in a 30x20x20cm plastic terrarium with 1cm of really really dry turf and 2 egg cartons

i simply put the plastic terrarium on top of the light box of my pacman frog's terrarium for warmth

no water/water crystals whatsoever, only oats & fresh salad twice a week, and never more than they eat in 2h

works like a charm (as you can see in my vid)

  • sorry i meant peat not turf of course

  • substrate is not nessecary

  • nice listening in background

  • can you feed the just born cockroaches to just born cresteds or are they too big?

  • do you mean crested dragons or geckos?

i got a crested gecko who's just a few months old and he's doing fine with the newborn roaches

a freshly hatched crested gecko might be too small tho

a crested dragon should do just fine...

  • What brand are the heaters you bought? I'm starting a colony and trying to find some decent heat pads online.

  • where can u buy them?

  • online. Look on my channel comments and click on the moose9900 account

  • +1 i got a great supply of them from him. very healthy and well fed when i got them.

  • Do they breed quicker than crickets?

And are they good for chameleons? I'm getting a bearded and my dad is getting a chameleon, and to say money I want to breed.

  • They look like they have a harder shell then crickets, will a Beared get compacted.

  • If you have correct ambient and basking temps you should be fine with feeding them to bearded dragons. Impaction is blown completely out of proportion and is normally due to incorrect temps/basking/substrate.

  • I highly recommend them for Beardies.

  • @jerseytimebomb can a leopard gecko eat a small one?

  • Less chitin that a cricket.

  • @jackiedogster there actually really soft and there more nutricous 2 <3 :D

  • @jackiedogster They actually have a pretty soft shell and beardies love them!

  • @jackiedogster oh no.they are great for beardies

  • do you need heat to breed or will it just take a little longer

  • As long as the temps in your house stay relatively warm you will be fine but heat helps to speed the process up.

  • how many times do they molt a month/week?

i juss got 200 mixed at an expo a couple hours ago

  • Don't know. I don't spend my time observing them lol.

  • I have never gotten a lizard simply because crickets are a pain in the ass. These seem much more manageable, though! I think I just might see myself with a bearded dragon in a few months ^_^

  • What setting do you set your heatpads at, and do you put them under the whole enclosure?

Im starting to breed them for my beardie,

and just wondering becuase yours look pretty happy

  • Just under 1 side of the enclosure. Try to create a heat gradient as you would for a reptile.

  • how much was the breeding container

  • You can just goto walmart and buy a 15 court ben. Shouldn't cost more than 5 bucks.

  • By accident I grabbed the 2 hour shut off ones and they dont accept returns so now i'm out 35$ -.- My colony is going nice I started off with 45 nymphs now I have over 1000 with about 35 adult females :D by the summer I should be up to a few thousand

  • how many month does it take 4 one to turn into a adult? i only have 25 right now but i hope to build my colony huge to feed 8 lizards

  • Eh, I'm not too sure but if I had to estimate I'd say somewhere around 4-6 months. Too feed that many mouths 25 just won't cut it. It will take forever!! I recommend trying to get a batch of 200+ mixed sized nymphs or adults if you can.

  • ya i figured but there was only 25 left at the expo... i want to order some online but there are pretty pricey

  • Yeah, they can get expensive.

  • yeah.... :(

  • were do u get ur egg crates from?

  • My local bakery saves them for me and fives them to me for free. You could try superior enterprise though, just google them.

  • Thats cool always nice to have help I get given the egg crates some times =)

  • hey how much are those heaters from the pharmacy? thanks

  • $10-15. Somewhere around there I think.

  • i love dubias compared to crickets

  • where can you buy these guys?

  • Reptile expos, kingsnake classifieds (link in info on right), or google blaberus for a breeder. It's the first page/

  • where do you find thoughs water crystal

  • I buy in bulk from a company called Watersorb. Just google the name to find them. But you can also purchase them already hydrated from most pet stores.
