alhumdulilah I am from a similar background and i have taken my shahada and i know its not easy as a revert. my parents do not know as of yet but inshallah may allah make it easy on my parents and all other reverts ameen. mash'Allah! ahhh his story reminds me so much of my reversion :D trying to cheat our Ramadan but then ending up taking shahada before it and fasting the whole month, parents buying halal food, mum being a Buddhist and Dad not believing in God. He is my twin :D

in the Qur'an and hadith, b4 creation our souls were made to bear witness that Allah suhanahu wa ta ala was the only lord(rabb).

and the prophet muhammad peace be upon him, also talked about each one of us being born as muslims. like roadside mentioned

this is known as al-fitra or natural disposition. there are also other things which are fitrah

Because when a baby is born it is born as a Muslim. When the child grows up they choose the path of their own or what their parent have taught them so they become Christians, Jews etc. When they embrace Islam it is called revert as they have come back to the true path. Hope this answers you question
