Wish I had a gaming PC, that's an amazing difference. Dunno why everyone is arguing, it's taken for granted that PC's are better simply cus they are run on newer software. As soon as the PS3 comes out it's out of date because technology moves so fast. PC's have other benefits as well (such as mods). I only wish I could afford a gaming PC plus the improvements I'd need to make to it everytime the hardware gets out of date.
@88adamjohn Yeah, theres the compatibility problem too, and most of the development companies are blocking modding so they can explore the gamers and launch paid DLCs. But it is worth.
@88adamjohn you can get a decent gaming pc for around $600 and if you think about it your console costs around $250 maybe more if you brought it a few years back and every household needs a pc for things as simple as web browsing email and homework so a pc like that would cost about another $300, and on top of that pc games are cheaper than console games on release not to mention how often steam has games on sale (i just downloaded deus ex for £10). :)

Did you record that PS3 gameplay from a $5 tv. The PC version will obviously look better since the console versions are ports, but the game looks a lot more clearer for me on my PS3 than what is shown in the video.

I know for a fact that the PS3 version does NOT look that crappy... I have played it on my 42" LED 1080P 120 Hz tv and then on a 720P 60Hz tv and downgrading tv's it still looked better than that...
Have you ever heard of compressed audiovisual content? The same was done to the PC version. There shouldn't even be comparing since this isn't a 1080p video where the game's mostly played in on PC.

@Laycossify They're walking through most of the video and the camera turns very slowly to make it appear more smooth. Notice @ 0:46 when they start to run if you keep an eye on the camera you can see the micro-stutter on passing objects. Most noticeable on the PS3 version. They appear to be using a gamepad also with very low sensitivity since the camera turns so slow. If you're using any decent mouse a good DPI makes the stutter far more noticeable since our turning the camera more quickly.
@purgeyou DXHR runs very smoothly on the PC and really it does not take much to run the game at high settings. I have nearly 80 hours of game play and the only time I ever lagged or stuttered on the game at very high settings was when I was using an older NVIDIA driver. Though the game is still beautiful, it's really not graphically intense game.
@LordBrakensiek Micro-stutter is something not every one notices especially if they're coming from consoles where lack luster performance is normal. There's a current 60 page Steam thread on the problem, just search Steam. For others, I don't recommend this game to PC gamers who demand good performance. There's nothing you can do to get rid of the micro-stutter and support has pretty much been dropped for this game.
And finally, lets all be honest with ourselves PC gamers, no real difference in that demo, I couldnt tell fuck all, I like the hazey console effect, gives the game that cinematic, arcade feel, to much detail makes it look like too sharp and false, consoles do a great job fooling the brain into thinking you are seeing extreme detail, guess what, it work!!! @Jam6813 Yes PS2 does look like shit on a monitor, BECAUSE PS2 HAS SHIT GRAPHICS. All consoles look like shit on a monitor, it isnt the console producing those graphics, its the tv polishing the turd graphics that are coming out of consoles. Console games arent in native 1080P, which means that when gaming on anything but a tv, that also displays lower resolutions, the games look like shit. Now sit several feet from the screen and the illusion of good graphics gets larger.
@lepanoksa If that other platform is PC then yes, but both the PS3 and 360 both render at 720P or lower. Games that arent very intensive such as Echochrome and Sudoku are rendered at 1080P though.

PC gaming is dying thanks to consoles, to be honest, you get similar effects on a console, great value for money, a future proof product, no compatability issues, compactness and loads of great titles. PC gamers are are usually men who have long term partners or are married with kids and when everybody is asleep they sneak into the study and fire up that £500 graphics card they fooled their partner into going halves on because they insisted the PC wouldnt be able to open MS Word without it!

Comparing pc to ps3 is stupid, the reason why pc is more expensive is because of all the things you can do with it. Plus with a high-end graphics card it isn't designed just for games, it can be used to for graphics design and all sorts. Pc games are cheaper, usually brand new pc games are £30-35 and ps3 are £45.

Im not finished yet, the XBOX 360 also uses an antique graphics chipset designed for the PC, namely the ATI X1800, you can pick them up for around a tenner now, but no real PC gamer would have any use for it because no new games would run properly, yet, Microsoft optimise it to play cutting edge games!!, My GTX 570 should in theory, being a decade newer and light years ahead, be able to multiply graphics quality and physics 20 times that of a PS3 or 360, does it? PS3 uses an Nvidia Geforce 7800 GTX graphics card with slight tweaks here and there!!! that particular model of card is nearly ten yesrs old, if you were to put that same 7800 GTX graphics card in a modern PC it wouldnt play any game newer than 5 years old, yet they some how manage to program the gpu to run mass effect 3?!?!? How the fuck do these console manufacturers do it! I spent £300 on a Evga GTX 570 yesterday and it the PS3 still keeps up, ok, no tesselation and not so smooth, but hey!!!!

Your console (PS3 or Xbox360) IS a computer, just purpose built only for gaming and movie playback. It takes maybe a minute for my computer to start up and have a game running. If it has to update, I can play games while the updates download no problem. XD Updates take minutes too.

I know that PC always looks better than a console game, and that's a fact. I think the reason why people prefer consoles though is that they are designed to the play the game you buy, it's going to work. PC's on the other hand struggle to play games that they don't have the correct software installed or the correct hardware.
@Lullaby454 If you're talking about minimum requirements to play a game then yes by now you should have that minimum requirement. Other than that. Yeah, you usually need correct drivers in order for a game to play smoothly which is only a click and very small update away. It's really no different than those Xbox 360 and PS3 updates you have to accept.
I own the PC version, and I couldn't care less. I mean...if you need a comparison video showing it all side-by-side because you can't tell the difference otherwise, then what the hell is the point?
not to say consoles suck, i play my ps3 and xbox a lot but a game like Deus Ex is best enjoyed on pc. not just grphically and performance but just the overall experience was much better for me on pc.

And you don't need to have top of the line systems to run games, a 2007 GPU like 8800gts can run BF3 on minimum - which equals the same details as on console.
The only difference is that on the PC you can upgrade - whereas on console you're locked with the given hardware - but you can upgrade the HDD, on the PS3's side change to a 2,5" Serial Ata and on the Xbox 360 - to any X360 specific HDD.
i'll admit, many games play better and look better on a PC, but thats mostly only on ones designed for gaming with many gigabytes of RAM and top-of-the-line GPUs along with plenty of disc space and very powerful CPUs, for the average Joe, like me, you just want something you can buy, plug in, insert disc and go, without having to configure or (occasionally) assemble anything yourself, because i know i'd mess it up

As far as HDD space goes, PS3 can be upgraded to a terabyte 2,5" serial-ata easily whereas Xbox 360s are restricted to X360 -specific HDDs. PCs actually beat consoles by a long run in terms of CPU, GPU and amount of RAM.
The only time I ever pirate is when I can't get the game in any other way (no store sells it) but then again, I don't even have interest for Activision's shit.
@walale12 PC hardware can be upgraded as you wish. Graphics are ALWAYS better on a PC. Games are all digital and can be downloaded from home without ever leaving the house. Consoles leave you stuck with hardware that can't be upgraded and you have to wait like 5 years before a new one comes out.
@walale12 yeah but those components are easy to add on. Plus the reason for new 600 dollar consoles are usually pc additions that were made 3 years ago that, when the console is released, would cost maybe only 200 dollars total to add on to your pc. Ex: the 5770 graphics card which has not been used on console yet and now costs only 120 dollars. Not to mention the 6970 which only costs about 300 dollars, but when you put graphical power like that on a console would cost 800 dollars.
I'll play any game on console or PC. I'm not too picky. Unless one version is drastically better compared to others. I played through this on the PS3 and it was just as enjoyable as I'd imagine it to be on the PC.

PS3 plays on 1080p some games, and Xbox no games are in 1080p, and PC play everything in 1080p, cuz PC gaming is more powerfull of all, obviously.
PS3and Xbox are starting to limit the recent games, Naughty dog, for exemple, is suffering to make "The Last of Us" work on PS3, cuz both PS3 and Xbox have limited graphics hardware.
And no, it doesnt matter what u change in your TV, you can put a HDMI cable in a Full HD 3D ready 50 inch high resolution super TV, it will not look as good as PC

uncharted 3 still can be playable on PS3, but its almoust in teh limit, its being difficult to make games that work there with better graphics, as the PS3 is equiped with a 7800GTX video card with 256mb GDDR3 memory, and 64-bit interface with 400mhz core clock, with is pretty old

The p.c looks great here in comparison to the console... however you can make the console look just as good by changing the settings on your television (obviously it will help if your T.V. is HDready and you are using an HDMI cable at a good HDMI resolution like 1080p) simply change the contrast, sharpness, and colour of your settings. or, alternatively you could choose a pre-set one, like "Warm" picture setting. ive tried this myself and it really does work.
@AEL13N No amount of changing yout T.V's settings will make it look as good. The pc is running at 1080p and the ps3 is running at about 640p give or take a little with lower resolution textures lower fade values (specular/object/lighting fade etc.) # of shadows on screen (I could go on for a while).
Changing the settings on your T.V may help, but it will never make it look "as good"
What prevents you from doing that on the PC side? You're the person viewing this on the given monitor of your own. These were both processed on the same monitor - the console through a HD-capture card obviously.
Changing contrast and such won't turn 1280x720 into 1920x1080.
I'd have paid much more had I bought the same amount of games on PS3 that I've bought on PC. :) Nevertheless, it's your own choice which you'll pick up anyway.

We PC gamers want the best and that's exactly what we get. Xbox 720? PS4? Pfft.. my PC will have already surpassed it!

Go to 2:06, and look at the edges of the mans shirt collar and tie, look how rough and jagged they look on ps3, now compare that to the pc version. That right there is one of the biggest differences in graphics quality between pc and consoles, image sharpness. And lets face it, and I think we can all agree here, jagged edges look like shit, especially when were dealing with shadows.
BUT... as someone who played the original Deus Ex game, I see a lot of things in this game that are simply a product of budget/time cuts.
Even in the original game (which was about 10 ago...) you had more interactivity with certain things and in terms of graphics... let's face it, the PC version could have looked sooooo much better. Anti-aliasing aside, it looks like a propped up console port.

@Laycossify They're walking through most of the video and the camera turns very slowly to make it appear more smooth. Notice @ 0:46 when they start to run if you keep an eye on the camera you can see the micro-stutter on passing objects. Most noticeable on the PS3 version. They appear to be using a gamepad also with very low sensitivity since the camera turns so slow. If you're using any decent mouse a good DPI makes the stutter far more noticeable since our turning the camera more quickly.

@purgeyou DXHR runs very smoothly on the PC and really it does not take much to run the game at high settings. I have nearly 80 hours of game play and the only time I ever lagged or stuttered on the game at very high settings was when I was using an older NVIDIA driver. Though the game is still beautiful, it's really not graphically intense game.

@LordBrakensiek Micro-stutter is something not every one notices especially if they're coming from consoles where lack luster performance is normal. There's a current 60 page Steam thread on the problem, just search Steam. For others, I don't recommend this game to PC gamers who demand good performance. There's nothing you can do to get rid of the micro-stutter and support has pretty much been dropped for this game.

PC gaming is dying thanks to consoles, to be honest, you get similar effects on a console, great value for money, a future proof product, no compatability issues, compactness and loads of great titles. PC gamers are are usually men who have long term partners or are married with kids and when everybody is asleep they sneak into the study and fire up that £500 graphics card they fooled their partner into going halves on because they insisted the PC wouldnt be able to open MS Word without it!

Im not finished yet, the XBOX 360 also uses an antique graphics chipset designed for the PC, namely the ATI X1800, you can pick them up for around a tenner now, but no real PC gamer would have any use for it because no new games would run properly, yet, Microsoft optimise it to play cutting edge games!!, My GTX 570 should in theory, being a decade newer and light years ahead, be able to multiply graphics quality and physics 20 times that of a PS3 or 360, does it? PS3 uses an Nvidia Geforce 7800 GTX graphics card with slight tweaks here and there!!! that particular model of card is nearly ten yesrs old, if you were to put that same 7800 GTX graphics card in a modern PC it wouldnt play any game newer than 5 years old, yet they some how manage to program the gpu to run mass effect 3?!?!? How the fuck do these console manufacturers do it! I spent £300 on a Evga GTX 570 yesterday and it the PS3 still keeps up, ok, no tesselation and not so smooth, but hey!!!!

Your console (PS3 or Xbox360) IS a computer, just purpose built only for gaming and movie playback. It takes maybe a minute for my computer to start up and have a game running. If it has to update, I can play games while the updates download no problem. XD Updates take minutes too.

I know that PC always looks better than a console game, and that's a fact. I think the reason why people prefer consoles though is that they are designed to the play the game you buy, it's going to work. PC's on the other hand struggle to play games that they don't have the correct software installed or the correct hardware.

And you don't need to have top of the line systems to run games, a 2007 GPU like 8800gts can run BF3 on minimum - which equals the same details as on console.
The only difference is that on the PC you can upgrade - whereas on console you're locked with the given hardware - but you can upgrade the HDD, on the PS3's side change to a 2,5" Serial Ata and on the Xbox 360 - to any X360 specific HDD.

As far as HDD space goes, PS3 can be upgraded to a terabyte 2,5" serial-ata easily whereas Xbox 360s are restricted to X360 -specific HDDs. PCs actually beat consoles by a long run in terms of CPU, GPU and amount of RAM.
The only time I ever pirate is when I can't get the game in any other way (no store sells it) but then again, I don't even have interest for Activision's shit.

@walale12 PC hardware can be upgraded as you wish. Graphics are ALWAYS better on a PC. Games are all digital and can be downloaded from home without ever leaving the house. Consoles leave you stuck with hardware that can't be upgraded and you have to wait like 5 years before a new one comes out.

Plus the reason for new 600 dollar consoles are usually pc additions that were made 3 years ago that, when the console is released, would cost maybe only 200 dollars total to add on to your pc. Ex: the 5770 graphics card which has not been used on console yet and now costs only 120 dollars. Not to mention the 6970 which only costs about 300 dollars, but when you put graphical power like that on a console would cost 800 dollars.

PS3 plays on 1080p some games, and Xbox no games are in 1080p, and PC play everything in 1080p, cuz PC gaming is more powerfull of all, obviously.
PS3and Xbox are starting to limit the recent games, Naughty dog, for exemple, is suffering to make "The Last of Us" work on PS3, cuz both PS3 and Xbox have limited graphics hardware.
And no, it doesnt matter what u change in your TV, you can put a HDMI cable in a Full HD 3D ready 50 inch high resolution super TV, it will not look as good as PC

The p.c looks great here in comparison to the console... however you can make the console look just as good by changing the settings on your television (obviously it will help if your T.V. is HDready and you are using an HDMI cable at a good HDMI resolution like 1080p) simply change the contrast, sharpness, and colour of your settings. or, alternatively you could choose a pre-set one, like "Warm" picture setting. ive tried this myself and it really does work.

The pc is running at 1080p and the ps3 is running at about 640p give or take a little with lower resolution textures lower fade values (specular/object/lighting fade etc.) # of shadows on screen (I could go on for a while).
Changing the settings on your T.V may help, but it will never make it look "as good"

What prevents you from doing that on the PC side? You're the person viewing this on the given monitor of your own. These were both processed on the same monitor - the console through a HD-capture card obviously.
Changing contrast and such won't turn 1280x720 into 1920x1080.

@Lolz0z100 It goes even further than that. Nobody spends money on a PC "just for eye candy" or for its superior physics engines; It's for its functionality and upgradability! A PC gamer will be upgrading his PC as technology advances, always staying on the cutting-edge of computer technology, however a console gamer will be stuck in 2006 playing games on DX9 at 30fps. We PC gamers want the best and that's exactly what we get. Xbox 720? PS4? Pfft.. my PC will have already surpassed it!

@xxGODxOFxWAR lol the no friction mod is insane on gta, and it is just endless how many mods you can get. Counter strike for example was just a mod of half life, a whole new game made from a mod (awesome game by the way).

@waecker2 You don't need to spend a grand on a gaming computer to play games like Deus Ex: Human Revolution, even on high settings. You also don't have to use a mouse and keyboard to play games like Deus Ex. In fact, you can plug a console controller into a computer.

Go to 2:06, and look at the edges of the mans shirt collar and tie, look how rough and jagged they look on ps3, now compare that to the pc version. That right there is one of the biggest differences in graphics quality between pc and consoles, image sharpness. And lets face it, and I think we can all agree here, jagged edges look like shit, especially when were dealing with shadows.

Don't get me wrong, this game is a masterpiece.
BUT... as someone who played the original Deus Ex game, I see a lot of things in this game that are simply a product of budget/time cuts.
Even in the original game (which was about 10 ago...) you had more interactivity with certain things and in terms of graphics... let's face it, the PC version could have looked sooooo much better. Anti-aliasing aside, it looks like a propped up console port.
Nevertheless still a fantastic game.
