I'm 12 years old and my dad is in prison. He was given 2 years, but in the end his lawyer said 1 or less, but they was its going, hes just about had 2. I miss him alot, but we've been able to have weekend visits and sit at a table for a couple hours, but then we have to leave and come back the next day. I loved seeing him, but I hate it when the guards say, " time to go folks!" We've been having a couple conjugal's too. He should soon be getting out September or October!!! =D I love you dad! xo

I get these visits. You get a list of allowable items. If you can read you can have no problem. This woman makes it look like a hassle. I am addressing the conjugal visits, which should not be allowed (not regular contact/no-contact visits). It's common sense, first, they are in prison for their criminal acts, second, it creates a huge tax burden on Tax Payers, from housing a conjugal visit, and if the woman gets pregnant, not only does a child have to deal with their father in prison, or another hurdle for the single mother, tax payers will now have to provide for that child while their father is in prison.
@dryanmorr I am married to a prisoner and I get these family visits. These visits improve behavior of the inmate and there is less chance of them returing to prison if they have a strong family base. I do not have a criminal record and why should I be punished. I'm a victim too, just not a popular one.
There are no proven statistics as to whether conjugal visits increase or decrease recidivism, sure it may help with an inmates behavior (while incarcerated), but the burden on tax payers and the long term problems vastly outweigh the positive outcomes. You may be a victim, but that is not because of the tax payers or anyone else, but because your husband made a bad choice and has to do his time.
