Wonderful rendition! Share the Light of the World with the world! I love singing along on this one, right out of the Holy BibleIsaiah 9:7
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Beautiful rendition of this powerful, truth-filled song! Isaiah 9:7
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
@chazzaktaz Great performance. Is it something wrong in 1:50, though? At the part where they sing "...the Prince...", I think the pitch is wrong, I m not sure though, what do you think, as a more experienced member of choir? thanks
Wonderful rendition of this incredible work of Handel's musical creation of Isaiah. Praise Jesus Christ, the Son Who was given to us. Wonderful Counselor. The Everlasting Father! Hallelujah!
I hear this with tear in my eyes. I remember a concert of a choir where i was a member. In all the rehearsals we had a tempo of 80-90, but in the live-concert the conductor took near 120. The most members of the choir are shocked, i felt a mixture of shame and fear. But we managed it! Since this experience i can't listen this part of Messiah without tears - tears of happiness.
Though this may be a great classical piece, it is first and foremost a testament to the Glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. He has risen indeed and He shall reign forever and ever as the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, and we will all witness the true Majesty of God Almighty.
Dear Carosaxone Thanks for reminding me who is my favourite composer. Have you tried Andrew Manze, Academy of Ancient Music, the hornpipe from the Bb major concerto grosso? Few things more glorious in music exist. :-)
"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace" Isaiah 9:6
I like this! The greatest news mankind has ever received. The temp is fast, joyful, your heart thrills. Even the conductor has a bright joyful expression. He's really getting into it.
Thanks for uploading this, have heard about 50+ versions and this is by far my favourite, if you hadn't uploaded it I never would have purchased it. I managed to track it down on iTunes, the recording is on an album called 'Hallelujah: A Celebration of Baroque Choruses' for anyone who is interested.

what is that little soft endpeice there at 3.38. Ive never heard it before and why do a lot of versions leave it out?
Malloyism 1 month ago
@Malloyism It is called Pifa (a pastoral symphony) and in fact is not an endpiece but rather an introduction to the next part.

MidniteHasStruck 2 months ago
@MidniteHasStruck nevermind that comment, I assume they are baroque instruments..?? maybe.. and tuned differently? I don't know.
MidniteHasStruck 2 months ago
@MidniteHasStruck Yes, they use baroque instruments. I'd guess the pitch is A=415Hz, which is about a semitone below modern pitch.
