These idiots make me very very angry. I am going outside to chop down a tree with my axe and imagine it to scream in pain!!!! You know! Kinda like the dumb wench at 1:40
@ModernNorseman I'm a bit lazy. I prefer a chainsaw. But the best axe is a Fiskars. Gerber makes a good hatchet that carries a great blade in the handle.
I would just like to say...I apologize on behalf of all western North Carolinians. We're not all psychotic hippies. Hillbillies, some of us, but not psychotic hippies. They all live in Boone. Yep, looking at you Appalachian State. <.<
@wiseasdust Did you ever manage a forest? Do you know anything about Live Oaks vs California Black Oaks? In some areas it's not so much planting that is needed but thinning and choosing what trees are most beneficial. It's knowing growth patterns. Which trees to protect and which to cut out. These people don't even live there. They are just posers. And I have planted trees. More importantly I have worked to assist natural propagation of trees.
Please. Just stop. This movie is creepy and disgusting.
"whatever makes the sand happy" oh shut up. Sand is inanimate. And trees have no brain capacity. None at all.
But, if we WANT to be environmentalist extremists, we should see that we are the top of the food chain and we have dominion over nature. Simple as that.
you know what, I think these people have a point. we are so blase about atrocity, and dont doubt that the rampant cutting down of trees is dangerously ignorant.
@magdelanye OH yes. You have a point. These people are all spot on. Weep and cry earthlings. Weep and cry humans for killing the old growth trees. Look at all the trees in the sahari desert. Oh well look at the sand. The sand is really sad.
@johnknoefler Curious that you should perceive the sand as sad,it could be for all I know. What do you think would make it happy? How I figure, the sand just endures. Its whats left after all the trees have been cut down, the trees that nurture life.It has its own beauty, but the sand is barren. It does not support life. Trees are essential to life on this planet, and their wanton destruction may be profitable but ultimately harmful. TREES NOT STRIP MALLS
@magdelanye I was joking. I grew up in the country and in northern California live oak are like weeds. We refrained from cutting the food oaks but live oaks are fair game. We tried to cut in a reasonable way to provide food for the deer. If you don't cut down some trees and make room for small meadows the deer will starve. They can't do well on nothing but leaves and acorns. Too much of this makes them sick and there are too many ticks. You have to use common sense.
@johnknoefler You are one up on me, Having grown up in the city, I dont even know the difference between a live oak and a food oak but I do know about invasive transplants and bad ecology and I have run away to the country, Big Sur prominently and lived in the forest there, so Im not just drawing on fantasy. My concern is wanton destruction and exploitation of the environment. Obviously we cant let the trees take over...but neither should humans.
@magdelanye It is true there are dangerous plants that come from other lands. Once started there is no reversing the problem. We have whole fields of star thistle. There is nothing to be done but live with the effects. Star Thistle drives out grazing animals. You can't walk through it. But even animals spread plants. More so than humans. And it is private ownership that promotes best land use. Our schools are havens of propaganda and disinformation on this topic.
@johnknoefler yes our schools are havens of disinformation: on every topic. So called progress strips us of our innate survival ability, so we can live longer, often meaningless lives. To restrict myself to the issue at hand, would you agree that a weed is just a plant in the wrong place? Kudzu, for instance, is on the bad plant list. Did you know that a small package of the root will cost about $8-$10 at the health food store. Why would anyone buy it? Its a powerful alkalanizer, for starters.
Don't see James Cameron's "Avatar" movie! These clowns would kill themselves after they see that giant CGI tree get blown up. I wonder how many times they've sat in poison ivy...
Ok....what?

I don't see what's so bad about knocking down trees. And not all ecosystems need trees if your managing a prairie you don't want them
