  • As with all of your RV videos, this is lovely and very well done. I'm glad you cut the response of Beatriz Dominguez to Rudy's flirty wink from "The Four Horsemen, because I just about barf every time I see her--I have no intention of insulting her living family members, but couldn't they have gotten a more attractive double for the close-up and just used her for the dance sequences?

  • Two questions, if I could -- what's the movie at 0:54? And is the next scene a deleted one from "Son of the Sheik"? I don't remember it from the film.

  • @TokyoSpike the scene at 0:54 is from "Eyes of Youth" (1919) and, yes, the next scene was a deleted scene from "Son of the Sheik." I believe this is can be found in the special features of the DVD for "The Married Virgin" (1918).

  • @crupprecht1 Thanks! I've got to get a multiregional DVD player one of these days, so I can buy and watch these DVDs in Japan. Could I ask you what kind of dialogue there was in the "Son of the Sheik" deleted scene? Is Valentino putting on an act in it, pretending to be callous when he really doesn't want to give Yasmin up?

  • @TokyoSpike there is no dialogue in this clip. it is from a newsreel of RV's funeral.

  • @crupprecht1 Ah, I see. Looking at the overall movie, it's probably best they took it out. If Ahmed sees Yasmin too much, it would lessen the feel of his losing her. Thanks!

  • I really enjoyed this. Thanks for being true to the time period with your choice of music. I have loved Rudy since I first saw him,( I was 12 yrs ) The best book I have read is DARK LOVER, I recommend it to all his fans. Rudy did not like the skeik image, as he thought it type casted him as the dark lover. Rudy was a home body who loved to cook. He also loved horses and road in the hollywood hills as much as he could, also loved dogs. He was really did want kids too .

  • Passion, thy name is Valentino.

  • great.

  • Love G-d INDEED!

  • What style!! Rudy had a style that was a mix between classic and exotic. I'm sure he would take it as a compliment that men (myself included) continue even in this day to emulate his style and gestures. Live on Rudy

  • wat song is played in this ?

  • This is from the soundtrack to The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse (Photoplay restoration). Carl Davis composer.

  • Love god is right! So many have tried, but they can't come remotely close to Rudy. He melts the screen.

  • I could look at this man all day.....

  • I wouldn't have cared! He was still hot.

  • He might be handsome and exciting, but you wouldn't want to smell his cigarette breath.

  • What is the film he is in , at the very beginning of this

  • That clip is from Cobra (1925).

  • Over 80 years and he still has the same effect!!! There will never be another Valentino!!

  • I dont think there is a man that ever compared to Rudolphs' charisma and magnetism on the screen. His eyes pulled you in and his face, hands and body held you like a magnet. You couldn't look away while he was on the screen. I have just discovered this man and now I am rabidly reading and watching everything about him and find him irresistible. His life was short and sad but his legacy to us is a true gift. Rest in peace Rudy, you are still loved.

  • He was the first Hollywood heart throb who paved the way for others like Clark Gable and Errol Flynn.

My grandfather wanted to be like him when he was a youth, and two generations later Rudolph Valentino still has great appeal to me.

I wished he got the love in life that he portrayed on the screen, but that was not really the case...with his 2 wives.

  • why what about his wives? still learning...

  • His first wife was a lesbian. She said she married him out of pity, and they were both lonely. I don't know why she married them except he must have charmed her. He barely knew her.

He did a foolish thing. She locked him of the hotel on their wedding night. This was one reason people thought he was gay. They never had sex.

He married Natasha when he still was upheld by California law to wait. He snuck into Mexico, thinking he would get away with it. He was arrested on bigamy charges.

  • To get out of big trouble with the law, Valentino had to confess...and I think he lied...that he never had sex on his honeymoon with Natasha....because she was sick....so the charges were dropped.

Natasha was a controlling woman, beautiful, but arrogant..and she nearly ruined his career by convincing him to do "artistic" movies. When he finally stopped letting her take charge, she left him. I think he let himself go after that, living recklessly. I think his death was sort of like a suicide.

  • Grande Valentino, un mito.

  • should correct title to LOVE god, sex god seems to be a little too narrow to describe his talents :)

  • agreed....

  • Thanks for making me happy! He is so sexy and so easy to feel romantic about. He died young but seemed to have had a good life except some heartache like most of us have endured. I love Valentino more than any actor before or since!!!!

  • Nice array of video clips. Thanks!

  • Just think, the millions and millions of people that loved him and mourned his death never heard his voice. Thanks for this worthwhile video.

  • ^_^Thank you, 5 stars, keep on makin me happy!!!Want more of them!!!!

  • He died far, far too young.

  • Keep them coming!! You and Suzanne make a great team! Love it, Love it!!!! RUDY,RUDY,RUDY!!!!!

  • What can I say? Absolutely fantastic!! You spent your weekend well! lol

  • Ohhh Rudy, you're so sexyyyy!!! 5 STARS!!! Big Up's to Crup!!

  • Stupendous quality
